Right now we will try OCC class racing (GT1, Group 10, and GTP) then introduce more classes down the road. If you can make up here stop on by!
Doors open at 10:00 AM, racing hopefully around 10:30 AM, hopefully done by noon.
Then you can go racing down at Rt93 and race Frank's programs!

Some last minute changes for the race, made a light but good turn out. Some faces that I have not seen for a while!
The raceway open up at 10:00am we waited around to see if anyone else was going to show up. Track open up @ 10:30 am one hour of test time. The track shut down around 11:30am. First class up was GT1 we had have 5 cars for a crash and burn race!
Brian McPherson was the track director and owner Ray was a track marschall. Five racers to do battle was Jim Torre, Tom Rowell, Mike Wyatt, Steve Merker, and Jay Sabala. First heat was off and runnning Jim Torre did a last minute motor change and came back to bite him. The big pink 28 tooth parma gear has strip in his car and he would battle tranmission trouble through out the race. After the first heat it was Jay Sabala and Tom Rowell. These two racers battle all eight heats flip flopping for the lead. Everyone else were battling for 3rd thru 5th place. When Jim Torre finally got the gear mesh right he put in a blistering 32 lap heat but unfortunately it was later in the race.
The race its self in fell into place Tom Rowell several times try to give the win to Jay Sabala. But Jay Sabala did not have the motor to retain those gifts. Finally the eight heat had roll around Tom Rowell had a one lap lead over Jay Sabala, Tom Rowell could not hold his car in the dougnut falling out several times giving the lead to Jay Sabala with 30 seconds to go. Then Tom Rowell went to work he started reeling in the first place car of Jay Sabala. with 10 seconds left it was a drag race. Each lap in the time frame Tom got closer and closer with 2 seconds left . Tom Rowell and Jay Sabala were neck and neck down the straight away! Finally when the power went off Tom Rowell ROLL around Jay Sabala in the High Bank for the Victory! It doesn't get closer than that!
Final out come was:
Tom Rowell
Jay Sabala
Mike Wyatt
Steve Merker
JIm Torre (with two heats in the thirty plus lap totals)
It was a great way to have our first offical race at Rem Raceway. Thanks for all who had come out to race.
Brian McPherson will keep us posted for race dates in the future. Also Brian may post any pics of this race!

Anbody agree or disagree?
When I set the racers up in in the program I selected the auto fill instead of each driver lane assignment. This spread the racers out once they started running, but still kept some side by side.
I had Mr.Frank close by on the bat phone If I ran in trouble setting up any racing,I only used one life line just to confirm something.
The only picture,as no one reminded me to take more.
Until next Time

Not a problem. You are actually REQUIRED to forget at least one thing as a race director. However it is your choice what you forget. Heck, if you don't believe me, check with Cheater as he is alwaays forgetting something!

Oh yeah everyone had fun! It was a barn burner of a race. The two fastest car there was Jim's and Tom's cars. I just happen to be in the mix because I did not fall out as much! Brian just set up the next race schedule we'll be there!

We had our second official OCC Style race at REM Raceway! Again a light turn out due to the OCC race on Saturday, Understandably a hang over day due to the big event!. We had 5 racers two beginners a three vets. Starting line up for GT1 was newcomer John Barcick in red, new comer Brenna Doe. (name was change under the age of 21 to protect the innocent.) in green, Steve (The Missle) Merker in blue, Jay (The Mad Mexican) Sabala in purple, Mike Wyatt in black. Heat one went off with out a hitch with new comer John Barcick tearing up the track setting the pace with Jay Sabala with 29 laps Stever Merker 27 Mike Wyatt 26. Brenna Doe 24. Heat two thru five results the Mad Mexican was trying to break away Jay with 146, Steve Merker 142, John 137, Mike Wyatt 135, Brenna 128. Heats six thru eight Jay The Mad Mexican was pulling away heat by heat. Steve The Missle Merker was having a great day no gremlins attacking his gear by far the best day he had in years nice to see that from the Missle settling into 2nd place. Newcomer John Barcick great showing in his first race ever securing third place from TRRS / OCC Veteran Mike Wyatt. Mike Wyatt finishing fourth ahead newcomer and grand daughter Brenna Doe. Final GT1 Results were:
Jay "The Mad Mexican" Sabala 234 laps
Steve "The Missle" Merker 227 laps
