Duffy,Well, having just arrived home after 3.4hrs' drive (my nether regions already numb from a racing experience that makes Alien Probes seem like a casual dalliance) I take this moment to thank the Speedzone crowd and the assemblage of the East's finest for a great time, and I'm real glad I didn't brass anybody off too bad.
It's a numbing thought to think that you know the difference!
SpeedZoneNJ, MrsSarge, and everyone that busted their butts to put The Fall Brawl into being... from the other side of the webcast, ya' done good!
Whenever a question was asked, MrsSarge would grab her pad, head on over, get the answer and post it. She learned all sorts of new things about webcasting as she started putting the results from each heat on the screen. What a great example of doing what was necessary to make it successful.
Racers - you put on an awesome display. I saw several non-racers that were in the 'social group' and watched their commentary - whether you understand it or not, webcasting exposes slot car racing to a lot of people that have never heard of it nor probably would have. We need to make use of our websites, Facebook and all the places we can to put that breadcrumb trail into place to bring new blood into the sport.
A superb job and a big thank you to each and every one of you!

It was downhill for the team from there. A marshall took out my Can-Am. I wish the A Main guys would give us lower main guys the attention they expect most of them are either color impaired or suffer from ADD.

JJ

Thanks to the whole SpeedZone crew for a very cool weekend of Retro racing. Seeing Wing guys like Chubby Salz stop by to check out the action and say..."Well..guess I have to build some of these," says it's growing for sure.
Thanks to all of the sponsors for the prizes that were given. The "after" party Saturday night was priceless with HowieWood.
Some very, very close racing took place and that's what makes Retro great. For those that didn't make t this year, mark your calendars. This will be an annual event at SpeedZone on the Retro East calendar for sure.
This is a tough group!

Our ISP detected more than 30 simultaneous connections from the SpeedZone's IP address, with lotsa bandwidth used. This can signify a Denial of Service attack profile, so they tell me, and thus the firewall automatically blocked SpeedZone's IP from even reaching Slotblog. I suggested that it might be reasonable for more than 30 folks at SpeedZone to be connected at once via wireless, they indicated that it wasn't just the number but also the bandwidth, which was at a level that would require everyone to be constantly refreshing a browser page.
So we really dunno why this happened, but we're sure glad we tracked it down and got it fixed. That's computers for you... we often don't have any idea what really caused the problem, but we do know what we did that fixed it.
