Track is built with racing line. 4-1/2" from inside walls and 9" from outside walls. 4-1/4" lane spacing.

Olgilvie did a very nice job of bulding the plan I gave him, down to the details.

We just put it up yesterday. Its not wired yet and there's some painting I want to do on the surface before we run it, so I don't know theses things yet. I'm guessing low 4's and 5 marshalls, but 4 could do it in a pinch, because of the direction of traffic at the donut and finger.

Kyle,

It looks like a fine layout and a super racing configuration. I see a lot of 'features' that make me think this will be a very good track.

Do you or could you post a photo from the driver's stand? I am assuming that it on the wall furthest from the director's stand?

Gary, footprint is 32' x 23' -6".

Marty, thanks for noticing the "features". The drivers area is actually on the other wall. The darker colored one, across from the monitor hanging down. I will try to get you a pic from drivers area.

Kyle,

Are you going to run "up" the donut or "down" the donut? I would assume "up" is the direction you will run.

I like the straight run into the donut. That's makes for much better racing.

Regardless of where you put them, there is going to be one marshal that will be constantly being told to 'get down'. That one would be the marshal that has that decreasing radius turn coming out of the donut.

If you had a ladder 'bridge' that would allow that marshal to do their job from 'inside' the track, that might make a big difference in visability from the driver's stand.

About the only problem I see is that you are located in Texas rather then Florida!

Kyle,

What type of cars are you expecting to race on the track. I think it would be an excellent track for retro. Personally I would almost kill for a track like that in my area. I love flat tracks and miss racing on them.

The track is awesome and I hope you do very well with it.

Is this a new raceway in the Dallas area?

Funny you should mention that Marty. Retro racing was one of the big reasons I had for wanting a track. The track is more or less a club track. Its at the building where I work. We had a 100' track that my friend John Myers built. We had room for a bigger track tho, so we decided to go for it. The only thing we have on the schedule right now is Texas scale series races which are flexis. There is also an original American Blue King that is being set up right now, south of Dallas, so I have hopes that we will get some retro racing going. Yes, we're just north of Dallas.

Kyle, the track looks awesome. Judging by the lane spacing you are probably going to need some turn marshals with really long arms. :laugh2:

Long time, no see Eric. The track is not that wide. Its only 1" wider than a king at 43". Most of the space is obtained by offsetting the lanes. Hope you get to come down some time and race.

That's a very cool track. I think you hit a good balance of not being so difficult that newbies get discouraged, yet difficult enough that experienced racers enjoy it. And the extra outside lane spacing is a great idea.:good:

That is the first track I've seen with plenty of parking space. Nice track. Use it in good health.
