With the GTC Am. and F1 events concluded, it was time for the main event of the day. The Mason-Dixon Can-Am cars took to the track for some practice. Would the track record of 3.9449 fall? The TRACK was in its usual super fast shape. Qualifying was up next.
Randy Kohr went 4.04, then Bill Gerhart went 4.02. Dale Granger went last and on lap 3 went 3.93 only to go 3.9164 on lap 4. A new track record set by Dale with his brand new Skunkworks chassis. Not a bad way to break in a new car. Congrats to Dale on his smoking fast TQ and track record for the Can-Am cars.

Ray, they are copies, but a lighter version of the original Skunkworks JK car nicknamed the 'SLED". Dales car was brand new for Saturday. It certainly was working well.
