This is my slot car friend, Bud Greene. If you don't already know him, you will soon. Master Modeler, heck of a painter, good traveling partner, chassis builder.

Retro, look out, Bud is on the move. This ol boy "ain't skeered" And he LOVES to solder. :spiteful:

Drives a late model 1/1 Mustang V8, drives real fast on the highway while watching movies. No weaving, steady as a rock. I built him out of a kit; he runs on two AA batteries.

Consider yourself warned. :laugh2:

Did you include the optional "Pun" software plug-in, or do I still have a job?

You are locked in, Michael. Pun at will.

The only difference between you and Bud is, I've seen Bud drive.
Anybody who can watch movies and drive straight down the road at 80 MPH for 5 hours, is a driver.

Bud is a printer by trade. Thanks for asking :laugh2:

Well at least he looks like a retro racer and I'm sure that he is a great driver! ;)
I really would like have him ahead of me in the traffic when he is driving and watching a movie flick. :)
Sure hope that I have the camcorder on when he does that!

Pablo,

Bud is a cool person and very likable!

I've had the pleasure of meeting him and racing against him at least 3 times now up in Thomasville. While I've not been with him in a real car riding down the interstate at 80 mph, I have seen him drive a slot car! He can drive a slot car very well. If I see him watching movies while racing on the Engleman, I'll get very concerned!

Once Bud picks up a bit more building skills, he will be someone to be reckoned with.

I must commend you on taking Bud under your wing and bringing him along. More of us need to be doing the same thing so we can expand the ranks of racers at these events.

Right now I'm looking forward with great anticipation to March 26th! Rick Moore is on Spring Break, so he, Joey and myself will be heading up there on the 25th to have some fun.

I'm hoping to see you, Bud and John there as well.

Well, you did say you built him from a kit, but you didn't specify. Is he just a printer, or scanner / copier too? All-in-one Fax as well?
Printer of what? Damned honorable skill. I spent a couple of weeks in David Goines' shop, in around the turn of the '60s, learning more than I ever dreamed possible about keeping my fingers clean.

It's interesting--I wonder how many on this block we know the professions of.

Al right, the blow up doll stuff was funny to me, buy I don't know what religion Bud follows..... be careful, he is a very big man and you may see him on Slotblog soon :D
I would hate to see him get mad, I've seen him fold a retro car into a taco.....just something to think about..... :)

BTW, he has anger problems when he DNF's...I'm working on that...... ;)

He just emailed me and said he has 16 cars ready for Abbeville. That's not a typo, sixteen cars :popcorm1: Now, that's prolific ;)

Unfortunately, you can't drive straight down the road for 5 hours to Abbeville. There are a few curves along the way!

I heard through the grapevine, Bud will be staying at Bernibrooks Inn Friday night.
He is a gentle man and well behaved.

Hey Bud,

Looking forward to meeting you at SOF soon. Under Pablo's tutelage, you can't go wrong! And it's always good to have another racer joining the flock.
