I tried to talk my friend into letting me cruise this car on Saturday night's!

I don't own this car, but my friend does and I know the painter. Just thought this Mercury was very cool, with bare metal foil detail, wide white wall tires, skirts, and the passengers.
This is one fast, good looking Mercury drag car going down the strip!

See for yourself, 8) 8) :) :)

Bill,
No, I did not take any pics of the chassis. I will do that Friday when I see him again at the track. I will get all the vital statistics, gears, motor, etc., etc. . . .

What kind of rear tires are you using, and what is the track surface?

Steve,
The rear tires I believe are the pro-tracks,not sure again exactly on the size? I will ry to find out and let ya know.I do know the front tires are what come with the model kit and are shoe-gooed to the underside of front fenders.

The track surface is painted black and I think is made of some type of presswood?

Geesh,I'm no help at all! sorry, but I will seek a correct answer to these questions! stay tuned....more to follow....

Nope, that's fine. I was interested in the paint. I've been in a variety of discussions lately about which type of paint is the best. We always ran foam and rubber, and used gloss porch and floor enamel on our track. Some of the 1/32 guys swear by Rustoleum texture paint. It definitely looks cool if want a surface that looks like dirt.

Steve,
Ok,I got some answers and a picture for your question about the track. This track is made from Iso-board 3/4" thick with two layers. It's been lasered leveled,55'ft long scale 1/4mile.Runs on a series of batteries, with a charger as back-up. Unfortunate,NO ONE knows what kind of paint was used, but it's fer sure smooth! Hope this helps you some in making a decision on your track surface.
