I ran OK, but because of a little squabble I had with the Chicago mob in the '80s, the conditions of my witness relocation in Downers Grove don't allow for podium finishes and the resulting pics on the internet.

Sometimes it's nice to just get out on the boat and enjoy the scenery.

I'm glad you brought up the "get out of my way" thing.
If I ask by when I'm still 4 ft. behind, it's because I've been pulling "you" 4 ft. a lap.
If I started the heat a 1/2 lap(75 ft.) behind you, you haven't come off,
and I'm now on your tail, I must of got there somehow.
While I might be comfortable on my track sticking my nose 6 inches behind Sano Dave,
(I like the ring of that phrase, "6 inches behind Sano Dave" ),
on a more challenging track, that I'm not that familiar with like Mike M's,
I'd sooner err on the side of caution, then tangle with you.
Bottom line,I AM the guy who'll ask by "early".
I'm NOT the guy who will take you out.
In those Heat & Semi races, I just want to make laps, and if the opportunity presents itself,
we can go wheel to wheel in the main.

I'm NOT the guy who will take you out.
AND, I'm the guy whom you had to keep asking!
And, I'm also the guy that didn't want to take anyone out of the Can-Am race.
my end results showed the slower lap times, of being to cautious.
I was skeered and ain't afraid to admit it!

I do drive better with an empty bladder. He set fast time in one heat where he worked on his car, went to the bathroom and made it back on time.

Then I must be doing it right. LOL.I always ask by early in the same case.
The other problem with the "coming up" deal is getting old and frail.
A lot of times I can't tell if I'm coming up on the guy next to me or
two lanes away.
When I ask by, they give me the pass, and it turns out I'm not
next to them, it is pretty funny.
