I've been sitting on the story of a new track build for Wolfpack Racing in Gilbert, AZ. (I am using Faceboook more.) This is a very special build for me. It was like a perfect sale for the perfect family and setting. I am serious. I'll report more on the "Perfect Sale" later. Pics and short description for now :)

Track is a 9 x 16' four-lane 1/24 scale Mini Punchbowl. This is the third similar yet smallest track I've built. 4" lane centers, Magnatech braid. Trackmate timing. 65' long lane, 60' short lane. Varathane surface. It will be very exciting to watch action on this one!

Delivery set for this Wednesday.

Thank you, Tim. It's going to be to hard to go slow on this track. Posted Image

And thank you! All that elevation change winds up at a 4' outside radius turn, too! Got brakes? Posted Image

Heck, everybody's got one of those. :laugh2: I need to swap the Contender motor for a Falcon. I think that's the motor they run in them. :)

Oh yeah - get yourself a Falcon VII and gear it about 3 to 1 and you'll be ripping!! That's going to be a fun FAST track to drive. I figure one of those ultralight Flexis and a Falcon with a Nissan body and you'll set some lap records!!

The track's really looking nice!! Looks like you could put chairs inside each end and you'd only need two turn marshals for the whole track! Put two drivers at each end, too!? Should be really fast and fun!!!

That's what I was thinking.... or maybe 1 chair on wheels and slide back and forth :)

Not sure how Bob is doing the drivers station, if its 2x2 or squeeze 4 on the left end. I know he mentioned he added 8" on the left side to help with the drivers station.

Hopefully tonights picture from Bob will answer that question.

Track is complete! I got in some laps with various cars. My fly non mag would not get around the banked straight. My 1/24 BRM non mag plastic with IG's got around very nicely @ 11v. All my 1/32 mag cars worked awesome. Lap times in the 6's for Outside w/BRM.

Delivery tomorrow. Dean will be cutting laps in less than 24 hours ;)

SWEET!!! I see he went with the 2 x 2 driving stations!! Gives plenty of room and makes sense. Enjoy your new track-- I've got several hours on mine now--and the Varathane surface is really HIGH BITE with NO cleaning. Just dusting it off with a "California Car Duster" that all the light dust clings to. Once swipe around the track last night--and Joe Chevy and I were putting hot laps down in the low 5 second range with our new D-3 1/32 cars--and 1/32 "Flexi" cars with Falcon VII Motors. The track is finally showing "rubbering up" too in the inner lanes that have been run the most. I'll concentrate on the outer lanes for the next running session. But a "black tire" line is now showing in the two inner lanes. It took several hours to show up--but it's getting rubbered in now--and the bite is FANTASTIC with the Varathane surface. You're going to like it!!! Congrats on the new track---If I get to Phx--can I look you up??

Thank You... unfortunately I still have to wake up early and work, so I did not get to stay up all night. At least I did finally get a good night's sleep knowing my track is HOME!
Fri/Sat we will be up all night :)

Yes, there is plenty of room, the 2x2 is a nice setup.

That inside lane coming out of the bank must be a BITCH!!!  Used to race on a 160 all flat hillclimb with turns like that, back in pre-electronic controller days.

What tires are you guys running with the Varathane surface?

Is it a high gloss finish and how was it applied?

Looks like a fun track.

We've been using foam tires on the 1/24th cars.

!/32 cars haven't been run yet.

The surface looks like a semi gloss, Bob Scott would know about it as he built the track.

I used standard Rustoleum water base Epoxy rolled with 3/8 nap.

Hey Ed, you got this thing setup yet :)

We took it apart, or should I say Dean crawled around on the floor for a few, I did hear a lot of "WTF"s' several times.... he's good he made drawings and notes... I would have just used a pair of side cuts and would be calling you towards the end of this week saying where does this go???

I will be removing some cabinets and rearranging my 3 car garage to get this in.... should be done in two weeks. and ready for racing!
