I needed a replacement for my Classic hardbody car and chose the Porsche 917 Spyder, driven by Ernst Kraus in the European Interseries in 1972.

Back in the 70's I modified a Heller 917 kit to this version as a shelf model, and have wanted to do it as a slot car for a long time. As a beautiful body was available from German Werks I started the project and it ended like this:





The German BhV decals unfortunately had an orange arrow (like the faulty Fly 1:32 model), so this had to be corrected as the original car was painted in a sick lime green (Ford) colour with Ferrari-red arrow lined in black.

Chassis: Fola/Neckcheese NSF917
Body: Werks

details are mostly home made: roll bar in aluminium tubing etc etc to save weight

Barney - actually you might have seen it before - it's the Neckcheese/Fola NSF917 chassis from my Porsche 917LH:





a great chassis made by my good friend and Slot Car Wizard Fola from Germany

I won the Danish Classic Champs last year with this chassis :-)
