Since Rob is in a holdng pattern with his builds, maybe I should send him a couple of the Retro Bits Parts Kits to fill in his spare time. :laugh2: :laugh2:

Add a R-Geo "Retro Bits" chassis into the mix. I've kind of been sidetracked with other builds and figured it was time to finish the Aero Warrior kit. I also had some retro bits so I figured I'd make that into a stock car also and hopefully complete both at the same time?

I already started the center section

OK, a Dremel tool and fire are dangerous. I cut apart my Warrior build to make it similar to the retro bits build. I'm curious what the final weight difference will be.

Here's the before picture

And after. Basically, I added a shelf of brass in between the motor bracket and instead of the rails being bent in a "U" shape they just go up to the axle tubes as reinforcement

Right now the Warrior build is 32.5 grams and the retro bits build is 28.5 grams. Obviously both builds have the same wheelbase and guide lead length

Nice work as always Rob.

We have not run stock cars on an oval yet. I bet your one chassis would work great on an oval.

We ran stock cars on Boggie's 155 ft Hill Climb today. What fun!

Keep up the good work

Greg

Returned to the work bench tonight and did about 30 minutes of work. Not much but at least it's going in the correct direction

Great build Rob, I would like to ask you why did you solder the front support on the pans on the under side?
