Again this was just another one of John's great qualification efforts and race events. However, the "slot god" got him back in the Can-Am A Main where John had one of his very very rare DNFs...
It was great to see John and Vinny at Mimi's; I'll think they will be back...

Many thanks to Mimi for her wonderful hospitality and amazing facility. This is slot car racing heaven. Roman's track prep is impeccable. THIS TRACK IS AWESOME!!! So very smooth and fast. It entices you to go faster and faster. If you lose concentration you will wall your car really hard - which is what happened to me in the Can-Am. Knocked my motor loose, so I was done for the day.
Many thanks to Randy, who mother-skunked me and his baby skunks to keep me in the race (and my spirits up). Man, his cars are fast and really handle. I can't believe what I was doing with his cars. With only five months of slot car experience, I was able to do really well (I think).
With the cast of characters there, I was a little nervous. I should not have worried. Everyone was very supportive. I do appreciate each and every kindness (and there were many).
I will remember that day fondly forever.
Just because a woman looks at you and smiles......doesn't mean she isn't thinkin' that you're funny lookin'......

The surface is in fact unique combining 2 seperate surfaces that provide maximum bite in the turns yet very loose in the shoots allowing good straight speed and easy on mills.
The power system is designed around high grade computer power supplies along with batteries and capacitors to be easy on motors while delivering maximum power for record setting runs. The split tap system insures even power to all lanes in all areas of the track without the surges sometimes attributed to more conventional tap arrangements.
The track will be resurfaced (same combination surface) and rebraided this summer or early fall to get it back into like new condition for next season.
