Sunday's D3 5 Year Anniversary celebration was a fun day filled with some very closely contested races.

Thanks to Jim and Debby Watterson for their support of D3 racing at Buena Park Raceway.

Thanks to all the D3 racers who participated in this special 5 year celebration.

A special thanks to Paul Sterrett and Mike Steube for creating D3 racing on May 27, 2006 (first ever D3 race on the BPR hillclimb track).

The day was filled with a combination of racing, pizza lunch, celebration cake and memories of the past five years of D3 racing at BPR.

It was a special day to have Mike Steube return for the celebration. He's still enjoying long bow archery, so he hasn't returned to slot car racing yet, but we hope someday to see his participation?

Tore Anderson also made an appearance, but did not race. Maybe next time Tore.

Here's the complete race/photo report link:

Just a typical pose by D3's co-founders, Mike Steube and Paul Sterrett. Thanks guys for creating D3. Five years have gone by very quickly. Everyone who races retro cars today owes you two a big thank you!

All entrants for today's activities received one of these plaques.

Keith, great job and tireless labor made the event real special. After a year absence, it was cool to visit with friends and mix it up on the track.

Hey Guys! It's great to see John back at the top of his game. Mark! it's good to see you back after the political bs over tires at the Checkpoint. I hope to see you next month. Everyone seems to have had a great time. Gus in Sacto

Yes, we did have a great time, and we are so lucky to have a great race report after a race, by Keith Tanaka. :)

I try to help out because Keith can't do it all, he got to race and maybe I can help him out, also I'm having a great time taking pictures of my friends.

Hope that you don't mind Keith, if I add some more pics to the collection?

Edit it and use what ever you need.

I'm racing the best here at BP but Father time is much better then all of us united.
Not a snob in this hobby, after all it will be gone, if we keep on going like we do, and I have nothing to prove so I keep on posting because I have nothing to gain.
It's our duty to remember the past so we can have a future.

Nesta, excellent candid photos!

I'll use some of them for the race report.

Thanks,
