This is because the body was not factory trimmed as it was on the standard "La Cucaracha", because the plated intake stack was not fitted by the factory to the Super Cuc, since the stack could not be seen under the plated roof.
The standard "La Cucaracha" body had a hole punched in that location, allowing the plated stack to be glued in place with contact cement.
The "La Cucaracha GT" or "Super Cuc" had a "chrome" tree inside its box, containing the plated stack, roll bar and gas caps, plus a spare clear windshield to assemble the car as an open roadster.
So if you wish to fit the plated stack, you will need to trim any excess plastic . Best would be to punch a hole there with a proper punch, but careful cutting with a hobby knife will do the job. Do not attempt to use an electric drill to make this hole, the drill bit will catch the plastic and make a real mess of the body in a split second. Might take a couple of your fingers too...

Just search 'Cox' and scroll through the pages. Lots of Cox 2E injection styrene repro items too.
Not cheap, though.

Please help. I have a metallic blue Super Cuc without roof. Has roll bar and windscreen but missing what I think is injectors... but the location has one large hole and it protrudes up and the chrome injectors from a 'regular' Cuc will not fit. What goes in that position - is it a scoop? I don't believe the body is damaged or anything like that.
Any interest in selling it? I started racing in '64 and always wanted a super cuc with the original motor. Thanks for thinking about this.
