"If you ain't first, you're last"
Are you ready to "Shake 'n Bake"?
The first D3 Hardbody Nats will be held at BPR on Sat. Oct. 29th and Sun. Oct. 30th (2011).
Races for each of the hardbody classes will be run. All of the races will be run on the BPR Flat track except for the Talladega Nights race on the King. The Talladega Nights race on the King for modified 36D inline NASCARs is always a lot of fun. All of you SCMs will love this race. WARNING: If you race a Daytona or Superbird car with built-in wing, you may be in danger as some SCMs like to take them out On the other hand, Paul Sterrett was successful in avoiding the shooting cars by some SCMs trying to take out his blue Petty Plymouth Superbird NASCAR
We are seeking race sponsors for each racing class (5 sponsors already signed): stock 36D NASCARs; Trans Am; Jalopy; 3 C's (corvette, cobra, cheetah); Talladega Nights (pre'73 NASCARs, modified 36D inline) and a new class has been added: 1980-1990 NASCARs (TSR D3 or Falcon 7 motors). Race sponsors are needed for the race plaques to be awarded to the podium winners of each class as well as a concours winner for each class. UPDATE: We now have sponsors for each race (see thread on race sponsors). Additional sponsorship and/or prize donations are welcome.
Rules for hardbody classes: socald3.com website (click on heading for D3 car/race regulations).
Here's photos showing the various classes and up close views of typical cars: car/chassis photos
Here's the races to be run on each day (race day times and race procedures to be posted later):
Sat. Oct. 29th: 36D stock inline NASCARs on the BPR Flat track
Falcon 7 or TSR D3 NASCARs on the Flat track
Talladega Nights modified 36D inlines on the King track
Sun. Oct. 30th: Trans Am on the Flat track
3 C's (corvette, cobra, cheetah and t-birds) on the Flat track
Jalopy on the Flat track
In the meantime, let's start building!

This kit can be used to build a hardbody Jalopy (using the "sidewinder" motor bracket).
If you bend the motor bracket slightly (for an anglewinder motor mount), you can use the kit to build a hardbody Trans Am or 3 C (corvette, cobra, cheetah or t-bird), or the new 1980-1990 NASCAR class.
Thanks Bryan for producing the hardbody kit.
Let's build hardbodies for the upcoming D3 Hardbody Nats at BPR on Sat/Sun Oct. 29-30, 2011

The feature race on Saturday Oct. 29th will be the Talladega Nights modified 36D inline NASCARs (pre'73).
These hardbody stockers are super fast in the straights due to their "hot" winds, but tiptoe thru the corners because of their heavy load (moonshine).
The SCMs love to punch it in the straights and crash and burn in the turns.
The "winged" cars (Daytona or Superbirds) in recent years have become moving targets for the out of control SCMs.
It's the D3 vs. D1 racers going at it.
A famous racer returns for this 4th edition of Talladega Nights.
It's none other than ????????
Whose going to beat Ricky Bobby?

I love it, B!
That is what its all about, I would love to race these. I did hard plastic stockers back in the day and loved it.
Sideways control counted a lot
