You might check into Pro Track drag rear wheels. They make sizes on set-screw wheels that should fit your project. What OD do you need?

OD matters not, as I true my own donuts. My problem is, a standard set screw wheel makes the overall width about 3 3/4".
Hence the cut down European hubs in the photo. The ONLY set screw wheels that will work are either very narrow width, or Euro style. Hoping the .600 ID JK wheels I ordered will work once narrowed to about .530

Remember, OD does not matter to me, I can make any OD I want....it's the WIDTH that is the problem. I'm talking OVERALL WIDTH, not just track width, Thanks Mike K.

Maybe I'm still not understanding what you are looking for, but can't you just cut down the width of the wheel from the side opposite the hub? I do this on drag cars to get the overall width/track to fit under the bodies.

IIRC, the tracks here in Zanesville used a 3-1/2" rear track measurement BITD. That was the only way you could get aftermarket rubber on a RTR sidewinder chassis. I'd shoot for that.

But, I don't know what a "BITD" is

As planned (plan "B"), the JK "Big Daddy" JK8772P wheels were cut to a new width of .530".
OD is .600; ID is .565
I plan to use American Mag inserts from Tom Andersen.
This will result in an overall rear width of 3.3". (Thanks Mike P. for giving me the courage to extend past the 3.250" mark )
The axle has been cut to size.
Now it's time to glue the donuts.
I refuse to accept less than great performance out of this car. It's only a matter of time, and patience
Next track test: 5 November at The Dungeon, Montgomery, AL

BTW: As others have said, there are lots of neat tires/wheels in the drag market these days. And they come in all kinds of different widths.

The fact is, I investigated Pro Track drag wheels thoroughly, and they will not work for this car. All Pro Track wheels have a set screw boss which is not shown in the photos. Despite the fact they look real narrow, they do have the added boss. This eliminates them as a possibility for my needs in this car, namely, a very narrow wheel BUT with maximum rubber on the track.
I have learned the beauty of the Pro Tracks, and in future builds, I plan to try them.
Now, as far as the difficulties at hand, if anybody has a better idea........
Please tell me, I'm all ears

The inserts which I thought were >.600 turned out to be <.500
Soooo, I needed to improvise. Thank God I actually saved the cut off "donuts" from the narrowing of the JK wheels, and they provided a perfect solution as an insert spacer to make them fit. Never discard ANYTHING for at least 7 years I'll bet Hworth knows that

If you decide you need more tire width you could use a Eurosport type tire where the hub of the gear fits inside the hub of the wheel. Since they are normally 0.900 wide you would have to cut them down as you've done here. Car looks good!
