I am sure may have felt that cold blast when Howie passed tech on his his first attempt... LOL I want to compliment all racers for doing such a good job in coming to tech prepared. Some bounces but all easily cured... yanno, the usual too small tires thing. Overall very smooth.
Great job by Team RPM (Ron and Terry and of course Rande) and to my buds from Retro East. The guys from Michigan rock... always lots of fun.
Ray Price was fantastic in his Can-Am race and he should cherish that podium for sure.
CYA all at the Fall Brawl.

Super thanks to Noose and Bill Fulmer... teching 170 some cars and taking all the pics. Many may not know this, but Bill Fulmer did not race in any race and was there to assist Noose and take all the pics so many of us enjoy looking at as well as recording the "history" of the event.

Sano Dave's win on the flat track was very "special" in many ways and job well done, Dave!!! That was awesome!!!
Congrats to Matt Bruce on winning F1 on the flat track and the first "outsider" to do so... LOL.
Rick Davis did a super job of driving in all the classes/races he entered and made many a move ups to A-Mains!!! An iron man for sure.
Ralph Thorne had a super weekend by TQ'ing on the flat track in Can-Am and made many move-ups and A Mains as well. Ralph did a super job on the plaques and shirts.
Manta Ray was the "man of the hour" in his excellent Can-Am run... Super great job, Ray!!!
The "Michigan Mob" is getting faster, guys... you have all been warned now. LOL. A great group of guys and fun to be with and race with. All are becoming major contenders and A Main makers.
Wes Pikunis kept us cracked up all weekend long and had a super fast F1 and really made me drive my tail off catching him and staying ahead of him in the race. The whole East Coast bunch made the event more competitive and fun. A great group of guys!!!
"Mr. Winner" Terry Watson had an excellent weekend and made me drive my tail off in the Spec race along with Jeremy Wyant. Sorry, Terry... no more GTC FK for you... LOL but you are an A Main contender and congrats on making all of the A Mains in the classes you raced in. Super job!!!
Thanks to all the event sponsors... class and lunch. We all appreciate what you do to support Retro racing and the Sano races.
Thanks to all of the racers who came far and near to participate, race and have fun... it was a great time and look forward to seeing all of you at future events. You are all fast, getting faster, and making the whole field work harder and drive better.
I want to thank my buddy Rande for all of hard work and support...
The Sano V was the most competitive Sano so far... lots of races were decided by inches and feet... when you have races where there are two or more guys on the same lap in the last heat fighting for the move-ups and wins... it just keeps getting better and better.
Thanks to everyone for making it a great experience for everyone that was there and watching online.

Supreme shout out to Manta Ray who helped me out all the time.
It was super to see all the "old" guys again and race with them. Special coaching "ooorah" to Ron Hershman who cheered me on to victory in my Can-Am race.
Can't wait for the next event.

Another thank you to Mike Isles from SpeedZone, home of the upcoming Fall Brawl. After making to move-up in JK Spec I was trying to solder my other motor in and Mike grabbed my car and did it for me and said, "You're shaking too much." LOL.
Thank you to Matt Bruce for the offer of the TonyP loaner for Can-Am. The car handled great, just needed more motor. I didn't want to cut the shaft on my good motor for Tony's chassis and not have it usable in any of my cars. I guess I could have left it in for Tony, I'm sure he would have appreciated it for the rental fee? LOL. Nevertheless it was an extremely nice offer from Matt and much appreciated.
Thank you to Ray Price for the Can-Am loaner. I was going to check out and go home and Ray handed me a car with four minutes left until tech closed. Without Ray's car I probably would have just gonehome.
Thank you to SERRA racers Jay Guard and Ralph Thorne for the use of their soldering iron, Dremel tool, and more importantly their modified screwdriver/pinion removal tool. Jay didn't like or think my razor blade method was safe. LOL.
Thank you to Ralph Thorne for the T-shirt. COOL design and excellent screen printing.
Thank you to the SpeedZone gang who I was pitted by for the conversation and entertainment. If that's how they are at their home raceway, the Fall Brawl has to be an excellent and fun event that everyone should try to attend.
Thanks also to Bill Fulmer who came in to take pictures and provide a photographic record of the event
It was also good to see everyone like Bill, Eric Ballicki, the Capt Andy's guys, Guillermo/Keith, my fellow local racers, and to put some faces to the names like meeting Greg VanPeenen.

Ray Price: Great job on racing, announcing for qualifying and running the counter. You're the man.
Matt Bruce: Thank you for letting me try a Tony P car for Can-Am. I don't think my abilities can quite match that car yet.
Bill Fulmer: As always it was great having you at the race to take pictures and put for me in Can-Am.
Noose: Thanks again for teching all the cars. Sometimes twice......sometimes more than that.

Rande Marshall: Thank you for offering me an RPM F-1 ride.
As Ron said earlier, everybody is getting faster and the competition is much closer.

So is Bill the one who Noose got to split his soda-pop with?Super thanks to Noose and Bill Fulmer... teching 170 some cars and taking all the pics. Many may not know this, but Bill Fulmer did not race in any race and was there to assist Noose and take all the pics so many of us enjoy looking at as well as recording the "history" of the event.
The two of you did a great job that has to be done; that is often overlooked.
I hope to be able to make this event on of these years.

Mike and Jackie made sure that everything was in order and ready.
Noose was there to give selflessly untold amounts of time and effort. I enjoyed my late night chats with him and Mike.
Bill Fulmer came and gave of himself taking all pictures and not racing.
The track was prepared with new braid in the bad sections; that made a big difference. The catered food that was served was miles ahead of any other slot race and has been for years. There were no real problems and everything went smoothly.
The level of competition was higher than ever before. Many new racers were there and showed how fast they are. You Michigan guys are great. I love racing on the flat track and King and I had a great time. What a thrash trying to get all of the cars up to speed. It's a great feeling when at the last minute you can find a little extra speed and be competitive.
I had two fantastic races on the flat, one with Matt and one with Sano Dave. I was second in both by a lap or less and I felt like I won them. Congrats, you guys. That was too much fun. I honestly had a great time visiting with every single racer in the place.
Thank you, SpeedZone guys, for your support and Wes for helping me out as usual. Amazing performances by Wes and Manta Ray have to be mentioned along with the fantastic Rick Davis, who could not be stopped.
Everyone should try to be at this race next year and you will not be sorry. I feel very lucky and fortunate to be able to take home a win from this event with all of the competition there was. Ron was on fire this weekend and taking no prisoners so the outcome of Can-Am on the King was a nailbiter.
A special thanks to Bryan Warmack without whom I would not be racing at all, and congrats to Richie Austin who built the chassis that has won here two years in a row. Richie, this car is the true Dragon Slayer.
Thanks everyone.

Great event, as always. As Noose pointed out, there were many special moments. Having Sano Dave back with us topped the list for me. His win in Can-Am on the flat track was great.
Another special thing for me was the progress my grandson, Ezra, is making. In 2-1/2 years of racing slots he has come a long way. His qualifying run in GTC-FK was unbeliveable. Missed TQ by only .002! The kid is smooth and his racecraft has improved ten-fold over when he started. He had a wicked fast car for Can-Am flat but nerves kind of got in the way

There are too many people to thank for all the help and tips we got but I need to make a special shout-out to Jay & Wes from SpeedZone. Thanks for everything, guys, you helped us more than you know.
Mike and Jackie, special thanks for all the hard work and long hours, much appreciated.
Last but not least, Manta Ray's run in Can-Am on Sunday was one of the coolest things I have experienced in over 30 years of racing karts, cars, and slot cars. I was lucky enough to pit Ray in the races we were not in together (except F1) and I really felt proud when he brought it home. I was really nervous in the last heat marshaling the finger! I was praying no one would come off there and give me a chance to mess up the finish.

Can't wait until next year!

The one thing that was not mentioned in the thank yous but in other threads was the condition of the tracks. Thanks to Mike for the braid touch-ups and the "spray job". You certainly hit it on the head.
I would like to thank everyone for the kind words regarding my mother's passing. It meant a lot to me.
The "Sano" was much more "Sano" with "Sano Dave" joing in the festivities. Congrats on the Flat Track Can- Am Win
Along with talking and racing with all the folks who came from out of town and locally, I need to especially thank a few for the surprising finishes I had this year.
I did not have much time to set up my cars this year but Mike took a little time out to take some of my cars around to show me what they were capable of.
John Austin and Steve Grider were great "pit men" for me in the Spec race... I just ran out of motor.
Bernie Schatz and his grandson, Ezra Vosburgh, were a big part of my success in other races. Especially the Can-Am A Main. They have both come a long way in slot racing in a short period of time.
"The Noose" was a constant help with his calming effect while my knees were buckling. He certainly helped me keep it together.
I'm already looking forward to next year. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves...
