Word is that the Ashland Anaconda flat track has been purchased from Chick's Hobbiz in Virginia and is coming to Atlanta. Anybody know where it's going?

The location is yet to be specified. It is in the Atlanta area. It should be set up after the first of the year.

So it will be an altogether new raceway, not just an addition to an existing place?

Probably in an existing raceway, though not one for 1/24 cars.

I believe that Ralph posted on another board that the Ashland Anaconda is being installed in Discover Mills mall, Atlanta, Georgia.

Is that the same place where that massive 1/32 track is set up?

Yes, it is, Jim. But AFAIK the Anaconda was never set up there. My fading memory says it was sold to California and housed in a private club for a while. That club has closed and I am not recalling where the track went after that.

Some other member will know, I am sure.

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

It's in NJ. The Garden State ISRA club has it or had it as they also had it up for sale I think.

I think the California club track came from Iowa.

Part of the problem in this thread is the five-year gap between posts.

Not unlike the way my brain functions, Mike.  :D

Always sorry to see a track leave the Southeast. I hope it's being enjoyed, wherever it is.
