Trinity Slotworks motor?

But to keep on topic for this forum, it also had a Trinity Slotworks motor in it with a brown endbell on it. I have been unable to find any info on this motor. If I were to freshen it up, how would it compare to the Parma Super 16D or the JK Hawk 7? Do you think it would be competitive in a Flexi race, or am I better off buying one of the aforementioned options?
The track is a 145' Hillclimb with crossovers and good banked turns, so it's pretty fast, but the infield puts a premium on handling.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Slotworks used a bunch of different colored endbells, so I don't know what you actually have. Is your can one of the Midnights, or does it have the rectangular cooling holes top and bottom? The newer Parma EPX magnets are probably stronger than what you now have. But I like the Slotwork's endbell hardware better than Parma's.
Can you mix and match manufacturer's parts where you race, or does the complete motor have to use only one manufacturer's parts? Would it be legal to use the American wound S16D arms?
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.

This motor has the rectangular holes top/bottom, it also has an arrow that directs you which way to install the motor.
Owner is pretty tight on rules, but not sure on mixing hardware or the American arms. Where do you find those at? I have another motor from them which has I guess what I could describe as a cross threaded frame on top/bottom with a green endbell.
I will clean them out and see how they perform, but like you said, with the motors being so old, I would assume the magnets would be weaker, I will probably throw in a Hawk and go from there.
Thanks for the help..

There`s nothing wrong with fixing up an old car and running it for fun but it won`t be as fast as the new stuff.
If it was, everybody else would still be using it.

If the motors are "original"...
Motors with "rectangular" hole pattern. Nickel-plated cans...
Red endbell - 16D.
Brown endbell - Super 16D.
These motors also came with "short stack" arms in both 16D and Super 16D versions.
Midnite series... X hole pattern... nickel-plated and black cans...
Green endbell, nickel can - 16D unbalanced.
Brown endbell, nickel can - S16D balanced.
Black endbell, black can - Short stack "outlaw" S16D balanced.
Purple endbell, black can - Short stack "outlaw" 16D unbalanced, same wind as outlaw S16D.
Midnite AT series... all "Twister" style adjustable timing and nickle-plated cans...
Black endbell - 16D unbalanced.
Red endbell - 16D balanced (only 5,000 of these were made).
Black endbell - S16D balanced.

Maybe there are already enough suppliers for this tiny hobby anyway...

I know exactly what I have now, an unbalanced 16D Midnite motor and a Super 16D. Thanks, gents! This forum is full of info.
And I agree about the X25, but as of right now I know the owner is trying to keep things low cost, so Flexi 2-5 are the only things running on a weekly basis. This weekend though is a special event where they're having Retro f1 cars, and open Flexi/acura type cars where you can run any chassis. I would not really want to build a whole new car though for just one week... He said to show up though, and more than likely someone would have a spare car I could run.
In my first race in the Flexi 5 class last week, after a 16-year retirement? I came in fifth out of eleven guys with 215 laps, "3 min heats", so he was impressed with how well I ran with no real practice before the race!

They had one like that at Hobby Unfair back in the day, but the braid was so bad you couldn`t race on it.

Absolutely, he is indeed a good guy, matter of fact I believe I heard your name mentioned in conversation between him and another racer, and no I don't know what it was about But I believe it was positive in nature! Track is in great shape, and the racers we have are very friendly and laid back.

I have a boatload myself. They changed the game putting the Super Magnets in the 16D's. Trinity was running ahead of the curve..............

I still drag race two of the Slot-works motors a Brown Beast III and a Black Bat. Both are D can motors and they will slay a S16D any day.
