Take a moment to celebrate Rocky Russo.

I just got word that Rocky died in his sleep last night. I have no further details at this time, but we will get information as it comes out.

I will miss my friend, my partner, my wise counsel, my button-pusher and balloon-popper, my favorite force of Nature; I treasure his presence in my life and I share in the smiles and tears of all we who love him.

Ah Jeez, I'm sorry. With so little left our Professor has met his Fate.

In his place I will say - "Hi".

Rest in Peace, Rocky.

:(

This are very sad news for the first day of the year. Rocky was a true enthusiast, a unique, learned man who lived his life as an independent person.
All the ones who knew him as the person he was, will certainly miss him.

I spent some small tech chat together with Rocky and Larry Shephard a few years ago at the Convention in BP. He was very much up on history and inner workings of the hobby. He wanted to take revenge on an unfortunate take out in the donut that I was involved in. I hope he finally forgave me. You are missed, Rocky!

Sad news, indeed. I will miss his learned observations about our hobby/sport.

There are some people you meet that you think, " He reminds me of..." That wasn't Rocky, he was unique with very diverse interests and talents. We met at Buena Park and continued with emails, instant messages, and the occasional phone call.

I'll miss his wry approach to life and his enthusiasm for cars and airplanes. I know I won't meet his like again.

He was indeed one of the most unique and interesting people I've met in the hobby, although only via letters and email.

As everybody has said, what a sad way to start the year.

RIP, Rocky.
