Fellas,
A good number of the folks on Slotblog cut their teeth at the Collingwood Auction Race Place site, sadly about 1991 the entire auction burned to the ground !
According to then owner John Farry "Pete, you would cry if you knew what vintage slot car stuff went up in smoke" !
Well, lo and behold the owners of the auction saw fit to rebuild and The Race PLace carries on today in the main building under the new owners (since 1999 I believe) The Herbert family.
So it was high time that the C.A.R.S. club saw fit to return to "Collingwood" to run our oldies.
Some pics of an informal Friday afternoon get together. The tri oval is super fast while it's "twisted sister" is a really fun track to run, trust us !!!
Mike's green AMX is a rare bird indeed and handles like a dream. My Patto's bodied Mako Shark with new rubber was a handfull however as :a bit tipsy" is putting it mildly.
Needless to say Mike's blue & yellow flexi GTP hand no problems flying !
