Despite the usual brain fades from some of the "elder" drivers  things ran pretty smoothly and the Flat track delivered very close races in F1 and Can-Am.

Thanks, Philippe, for tech inspection

Despite the usual brain fades from some of the "elder" drivers...

OK, I admit, I did the controller hookup thing... :laugh2: only damage: a broken guide and more brain neurons shorted out. :wacko2:
Below are more pictures of our monthly event:

Early in the morning, racers are practicing on the Flatster:

2011-2012 most improved driver, Gary Donahoe, getting serious about his racing rides:

d3_2012_2_11 006.JPG

We ran "4 and 4 plus stand byes" so that we had plenty of marshals, but the computer set the cars to each other lane, which was a bit confusing for at least 10 seconds between heats! :)

Podium clown Tim Neja crowns himself with his good F1 car, and yes, it was really good!

Back to serious business, queuing at Imperial Burgers for a well-deserved contribution to our respective avoirdupois:

Visitor Gil Gundersen in serious talks with Tore Anderson and cosmetic mogul Mill Conroy:

Spy shot from the street:

The racers ready to do business in the Can Am event:

This time we figured the computer to run the "4 and 4 and stand byes":

Phil Nyland was hyper competitive in both the F1 and Can Am races. It won't be too long before he gives some serious rash to the establishment... :D

More to follow. :)

A solution to that problem was invented 8 months ago.

Controller Buddy

Let me guess.
1) you never did that before
2) you'll never do it again

Guys always say #2 until they do it again. LOL

Indeed, thanks Bryan, for everything you do to help retro racers nationwide, and thanks for your great cars! :)

If you remember
screw-on braid, motors that look like padlocks, that dang fuse wire in Cox controllers, "hand" painted bodies, the very first can motors from Mabuchi, and the smell of wintergreen then you are OLD!... like me!
