I came across this aerial photo of the topography of the location of Riverside Raceway now and with the track circuit super imposed on the photo. I thought the retro guys would find it interesting.

Actually we find it sad...
But one can immerse himself in nostalgia by attending THIS.

Riverside was a great racing track. I was privileged to race there on both two and four wheels from 1973 through 1988. Most challenging racing track...

I had the opportunity to race my first enduro kart race on this famous track, the esses were quite bumpy in a kart!

I have many great memories from Riverside International Raceway from 1963 through 1987. Perhaps my life’s greatest thrill was at a test in late 1986, riding shotgun, holding on to the roll cage with no seat or belts, in the IMSA GTO Celica shown in my Avatar. Dan Gurney was driving and we were lapping under the existing GTO track record. It was violently smooth.

I watched Gurney win many races there, Stockers, F5000, etc. He was my home town hero while growing up down there.

sad what happens to race tracks.
ive found the locations of a bunch of defunct socal racetracks on google earth and if you look at ontario motor speedway(which is a mall i think) you can still drive on part of the old track (inland empire blvd). the street follows where the track used to be its kind of weird
