A friend here showed me one of these a few years ago and I was finally able to take a couple photos today - maybe the only incident in history of a slot car influencing the diecast world! Introducting the "la Cucaracha GT" no manufacturer, just "Made in Hong Kong" on some of the bottoms... and at least two versions of the chassis, with different wheels...

And to make things more interesting, looks like they duplicated the Cheetaracha too...

Amazing, and looking at the wheels, probably made in the late 1970s, well after the real thing had hit a wall...

Those are Neat! What scale are they? Judging by the wheels, I'm guessing Hot Wheels® size?

I am not a doctor, but I played one as a child with the girl next door.

I would believe that they must be larger, possibly O-gauge...

Sorry, forgot to take measurements, and they have left with the owner, but I assumed they were roughly 1/43 size, standard diecast... There was also a Ford 3L in there from the same series, which was smaller.

Yep, looking at the rivets it was also my thinking. Interesting buggers! :)
