Folks,

The May meeting of the C.A.R.S. Vintage Slot Car Club takes place next Thursday May 3, 2012, at The Race Place, Rt. 33W, Talco Building, in Farmingdale, NJ, at 7:30 PM.

In keeping with our theme, slot car stuff starting with the letter "M" for May will be featured... in addition it's also oval track month. Slot car stuff having to do with oval track racing will also be on display/seeing track time.

And finally to pay tribute to some of racing's greatest events held in the month of May, we will pay homage to the Monaco Grand Prix, The Indianapolis 500, The World 600 (NASCAR kiddies) and last but not least, the annual "Night Before The 500 Midget Race".

Certainly no shortage of subject matter for the May meeting!

PS: We've added some "how to's" to this month's gathering, including some interesting ways to detail your interiors!!!

Folks,

Pics from the May meeting of the C.A.R.S. club. First up is Rodney's recently-completed Connaught front-engined GP car, really captures the look doesn't it ? The yet-to-be-completed Lotus is also by Rodney.

Next up are Jimmy Roselli's "Purple Gang" cars, Noose-painted JD Grand Prix racer and Jail Door sports car and Jimmy's self-painted Avenger coupe. Nice work, Jimmy!

My Frankie Schnieder Legends car in the back ground.

Sorry for the shaky pics...

We told you last time that we'd feature Jack's oval track cars, here they are!

First up is his "novice car" a SIX cylinder machine, a blast from the past with a "Southern" body !

Then his midget racer, with a peek underneath!

For those folks that are into "Contraption Action", check out the motor under his novice coupe...

My collection of GP cars with a few as yet to be finished 1/32 Maserati 250s.

The clear body is a Dominic repop of the Classic Maserati body included with some extra parts in the Asp kit; excellent job, Dom!

All great, I love the variety the most.

How does the Mk70-motored Dynamic run with the timing bump and curved magnet plates?

Bob,

Pretty well, of course the weight helps the handling dramatically...

Thanks for the ID on the motor; I was at a loss!
