There are many different classes of wing cars. You may want to be more specific on what class you care to know more about.

Well, What are you meaning by the best? There are a variety of classes and speeds of cars, and with that comes the $$$$ what are you looking to spend and how fast do you want to go is a better way to ask you what your looking for. Also what type of track will you be racing on? it does make a dif.

Where are you planning on racing at? Don't get freaked by all the $$$$$$$$$$ signs, wing cars as any thing else can be expensive or reasonable, there's some fast classes out there like 27 lite, one motor open and in so cal a group 7 lite class thats very fast but will not break the bank, depending on your racing experiance you may be able to start off with f-class cars or boxstock, or the previously mentioned classes.

The best car out there is in the eye of the beholder, All brands work. Give us a bit more info on what your experiance is, where you intend to race and you will get some good advice.

Thanks for all the help, guys. I race at Flashbacks in Snellville, GA. I have a FX chassis with a Pro Slot motor that is working great but my son wants to run wing cars too so I figured I would just buy me a new one and give him my old one.

I don't know the class name that we run. I'll post some pics so you can see my set-up.

Looks like you are looking for a Boxstock car. I woud run one of the Beuf Express chassis with a ribbed or unribbed Viper, depending on the specific track you are running on.

I was thinking Box 12 also, I do not know much about those cars, but that is the starting point for entry level wing car racing. There is also Group F, a boxstock car like James described with a Falcon 7 motor.

Talk to your local track owner and see if either class is being raced and have fun.

I would look at what people are racing on that track. That is a long flat track with a couple jumps.

If Joey Mc and Ralp Thorne are racing in those classes I would be looking to copy what those guys have. I expect it is unlikely you will buy something as an RTR that will work out of the box there.

PS: That was my home track when I lived in Atlanta. Say G'day to Larry and Tina.

I think that an OMO wing car is the best because you can buy one with another motor and also race G7 Lite. You can try to race G7, but you have to run on six foot of choke or higher if you have only two motors. I know that many raceways used to have Box Stock races, but even at BRP there are very few Box Stock racers. I was told that many racers like to race G27 Lite. I think it depends upon your local raceway. Good luck!

There are several things you may want to consider. Is this a race car or a play car? What type of track are you run on? What are your rules? The motor appears to be a ProSlot mini motor, what arm are you using. Most importantly what is your price point? All the suggestions here are good ones but more detail would help us help you...

What's the best wing car out now? Whatever comes out of Beuf's box. :sun_bespectacled:
That's thirty minutes away. I'll be there in ten.

I have played with the puppy dog in a wing car. Its good and easy to learn to drive. Its about as good as a Hawk 7 in speed but easier to drive cause of much better brakes. I did a 1.5 laps better average in a race cause I didn't come off. They are more even in power than the H.7 but twice as expensive...But the brushes can be replaced and they can be rebuilt and resealed because they are used in the Retrio series. Not a real bad idea if you want to take the motor out of the equation..........

I agree that what comes out of Beuf's box or what you buy from Beuf is the best wing car. I buy all of my wing cars from Buef and have even qualified better than Beuf in G7, but winning a G7 race against Beuf is not very easy. I like to race any type of wing cars from Class F, Spec. 12, Box Stock, 27 Lite, OMO or G7. In fact, there are racers who race all of the wing cars and never have to marshal any races. I think that good racing at any speed is good and I do not think that the faster cars are any better than the slower ones.

I raced on the new track in August last year with a Tommy Flythe loaner - I won the race - Tommy;s car was a longer version of the Buef box 12 express chassis.

This was a very good handling and easy to drive car.

PS to the others - this is not a gerding or even a king track - cars that work here would probably get eaten on a fast king - this place requires fairly high down force.

What did they have in August - the one I raced on was not the Fayettville track - was the one that came from South Atlanta - in the centre that Rusty and his dad had. Is that the one there now ?
