Pictures and report later. But Team RGEO (Rick Jr., Chris R., and Steve K.) wins by 19(?) over Team Demon (Ron H., Chris B., James M., and Ralph T.). Third was Shadow Chasers which was Al R., Jacob S., Dave S., and Gina. The winner had just short of 4000 laps. Good close racing.

About 3 hours in, 4 teams were within what 20 laps of the lead or something like? It was super intense. Everyone had their fairshare of problems, but some teams were just a shade faster than others. I think everyone took some wall shots too. It was great close racing. Thanks to shadow and al for running a great car.

I hope someone does a race report.

Not sure that's going to happen, but here is a "unofficial summary" .........

Team R-Geo led the first two heats with the The Demons close behind.... after 3 heats The Demons held a 2 lap lead over Team R-Geo while Teams Lost and Spaced and Shadow Chasers were slowly gaining ground on the top two teams. After 5 heats R-Geo back out front 6 laps over the Demons...... heats 6,7 and 8 were a bit ugly at times for R-Geo and The Demons and after the 8th heat ( the halfway point ) It was R-Geo leading Lost and Spaced by 3, with Shadow Chasers 4 behind L & S and The Demons 3 behind Shadow Chasers.

After 3 hours, the halfway point....the Top 4 teams were 10 laps apart.

http://www.tomthumbh...LapsOverall.htm

Team R-Geo continued to lead the way in the second half of the race with The Demons moving up into second and going from 40 some laps down to within 18 by the finish while Shadow Chasers dropped to 80 some behind.

http://www.tomthumbh...LapsOverall.htm

The over all finish

Team R-Geo 3927
The Demons 3909
Shadow Chasers 3815
Spaced and Lost 3738
MCM 3707
Team Grizzly 3670
Three E's 3151

The over all winning lap total was the most ever ran in a 6 hour enduro at Tom Thumb and with the Demons also surpassing the previous total.

It was also the closest finish between the top two teams in Columbus Classic history.

Thanks to the Mc Masters for putting on the race and for putting up with us racers......lol SPECIAL THANKS to Gary Adams for coming and "announcing" the race as it happened and to Steve Deiters for visiting and bringing some donuts to eat as he usually does.

The race was "Good, Bad & Ugly" at times for all the teams and a great time was had by all.

Thanks to Cindy Mc Masters and Skippy for getting the after race "dinner" prepared and served.

Thanks to the "Southern Boys" Ralph, Chris and James for "doing the long distance" thing once again.

Congrats to Team R-Geo for the Win

Thanks to those who donated to the Sano Dave "fund" and wore their "Screws Cancer" bracelets.

And yes folks....... IT GLOWS !!!!! LOL

It was a great day of racing even if you were just watching like me. Sorry I couldn't stay for the whole race. A strong field of runners who keep getting these retro's going faster and faster.

Of course Thanks to the McMasters for hosting the event and making us always feel welcomed.

It was a great race and amazing how close the race stayed for so long of a time frame. After 6 hours of hard racing it came down to 90 seconds of track time, as the difference. Every single team had issues to deal with and race management to best use their time. It was great to sit and watch this one.

Was great to interact with all the teams and the sportsmanship was second to none by all.

I want to say how proud I am of Chris, Steve and Rick II for their performance. CYA all next year with a Dragon Slayer 5 or Samurai 7.0...............:)

Well, this was the 4th time we have made the 9 hour trip and it was worth it again as it was the other 3 times. Many thanks to Mike and Cindy. It is always a great time at the race and the track is always in great condition for the race. Also I want to thank Ron Hershman as his knowledge teaches me more each time I race.

The competition was as tough as it always is. I can't believe how racing in this race improves my driving. I can remember the first time, and how I improved over the years. I still can't drive as well as most of these guys, as the quality of the drivers in this race makes you really focus.

Congratulations to Team RGeo on a well deserved victory.

I am already looking forward to the race next year.

Chris

Ron,
FWIW, if my testing is accurate that showed the new, straight pinion, from St. Jerry, the Patron Saint of Retro,.
is approx. .06 faster than an used, worn angle pinion, having one on your car would be worth approx. 35 laps over the last 5 hrs. of the race.

Damn MIke, why didn't you post this Friday, we used a used pinion with already several hundred laps on it. It went another 3900+, not counting the laps today from testing. We'llknow better next Enduro... thanks for inside info..................

Damn MIke, why didn't you post this Friday, .....

I'm confused.
Someone just pointed out to me you posted Thursday night on the IRRA FB page how excited you were a new pinion
is available that might be faster, probably will last 5-10 times longer, and regardless on how the previous two claims exactly work out,
is only 2/3rds the price.
