ORS Summer Series Race # 2 was held July 28, 2012 at Tom Thumb Hobbies. A total of 43 entries were on hand for some good times, lots of fun, laughs and great racing.
First up was F1 qualifying..... Ron Hershman was on the pole with a 4.805 run and Jeff Lauterbach right on his heels with a 4.818 lap.
The first race was the Retro Anglewinder class. This was the "last race" for X-12 arms in the class and Ron Hershman was the only one to run a Big Dog arm against the other four racers who ran their X-12 arms.
Ron Hershman and Tom Lauterbach were tied after the first heat and Ron took the lead in the second heat while Tom has some "issues" on purple lane. Ron and his Big Dog held off the X-12 arms to win with 195 laps followed by Tom Lauterbach's 189. In third was Gary Echelbarger 168, Eric Balicki 162 and Steve Deiters 124. Tom ran fast lap of the race with a 4.435 on the blue lane.

Next up was the F1 races.......... The B main was won by Mike Panko over Earl Graybill and George Katzakis came in third.

The A main was won by Ron Hershman over Jeff Lauterbach 2nd and Tom Lauterbach 3rd. Fastest Race Lap was Ron Hershman 4.801 on Yellow

Next up was Can-Am qualifying.... Ron Hershman TQ'ed with a 4.792 and Rick Maynard almost cut Ron with a 4.797 lap.
The Can-Am B main was won by Rande Marshall with Danny Kuntzman 2nd and George Katzakis 3rd.

The overall Top 3 in Can-Am was 1st Ron Hershman, 2nd Rande Marshall and 3rd Dave Simerka Fastest Race Lap was Ron Hershman 4.748 on Yellow

Had a great day always fun to race with the ORS crew. Just need more track time olso need to learn how to make a better qualifying run always 2 to 3 tenths faster in the race. Always fun to make the trip from Canton. Yes I am Part of the Canton crew. See everyone at the Summit.
