The track is a custom routed 81’ eight-lane banked tri-oval. The racing schedule includes four classes that use the Parma 4.5” FCR chassis and four classes that require brass “scratchbuilt” chassis.
The FCR chassis with Lexan bodies are excellent entry level cars and trucks since start up and maintenance costs are inexpensive in comparison with other 1/24 slot cars. The “scratchbuilt” chassis use plastic model car bodies. These cars are less forgiving to high impact, but are extremely fun to set up and drive.
The HO scale tracks consist of a Max Trax Scale Racing road course set up on a 4’ x 20’ table and a Max Trax Scale Racing inverted tri-oval set up on a 4’ x 16’ table. HO racing does not have a weekly schedule yet, but has been open for special events, including hosting races for the Southern Sportsman Series and the Southern Muscle Series. Regular HO racing will include Classic T-Jet, Modified T-Jet, MagnaTraction/X-Traction and Box Stock cars.
All tracks have Track Mate computer timing and lap counting systems.
The racing and fellowship are fun. The racers and spectators are great. Racing is meant to be fun on any scale, and that is exactly what we are about at Electric Motor Speedway Hobbies… having fun doing what we love.
