Even that I have some more urgent projects laying around, I decided to build a new Retro F1 car using the ISO principle, know from the CIOX IFC cars from the mid 60's.

Component list:

2 pcs JK 1" bracket
1,6 x 12mm brass rod
1,6 x 6mm brass rod
1,6mm dia brass pintube and brass rod
steel guide tongue

3mm axles, Sigma Gears, Fox 1o motor, Parma guide, 10mm fronts, 16mm rears, both 15/16dia, hard foam fronts, Black magic rears.

Thanks, Mike - I was restricted by our 30mm max chassis width rule, so it was a puzzle to get everything to fit :-)

I sold the above chassis and build a similar one, which received an older repop Lancer Eagle body.

Niels, your photos prompt a question. How do these new ISO chassis handle compared to the Mk 1s? Are there certain situations when you'd use one versus the other? :)

Bill, to be honest I don't really know :-(

I normally have an Older Plumber chassis and the ISO in my box and try them out on the track we are racing. Sometimes i choose the ISO and sometimes the other.
They are both very stable and forgiving.

I havent raced the "normal" type much lately, as I like to experiment, but many of my most fierce competitors race these with success.

We race on both flat and banked wooden traks as well as Carrera tracks.

I dont have a very scientific approach to racing as my short time memory was damaged due to stress some years ago, so I kind of "feel my way around" :-) but this approach is not that bad as I won the national champs again this year :-)

so my advice is - build one of each and try it out :-)

Feel free to be inspired here (my extended memory): https://picasaweb.go...469759275492557

The chassis is my original Neckcheese MkI in the latest configuration with extra weight below the motor and on the drop arm. Goes like hell !!! :-)
