Watching in ebay I've found this auction for three photographs. The seller's description talks about a promo cars in the 1/32 K&B/Aurora range cars that finally were not launched.

Ebay

It is at least curious. I use to think into convert the Demolition Derby Aurora kit into slot, but the high prices it reaches is a big obstacle.

Here is the original 57 Ford by Aurora which I slotorized (slaughterized) with a Revell F1 chassis. I have also seen a resin copy of this same model, which my friend also made into a slot racer.

The LASCM has a 1/24 scale version of this body in pretty good shape, but we are still looking for the 1/32 scale static kits. I am pretty sure that the slot versions were never issued, but in this business, better not say never! :laugh2:

I have one of those kits built up.....It's a '56 Ford not a '57. I will try and get a pic up of mine.

I'm no expert on Fords, despite having 256,000 miles on a pickup, but the box says ' 57 Ford

You've got the body on backwards! :D They typically ran around the bull ring in reverse. Anybody here from the Demolition Derby capital Islip, NY? :bye:

Wowww, I hardy saw any of this Fords assembled. The Andy's one is the first I see in a slot racer shape. Yours are extremely nice.
Maybe if Aurora/K&B had released these Demolition Cars they wouldn't reached the success but I'm sure that now they would be a great collector pieces.

I'm from Central Islip, NY (Long Island). I used to go to Islip Speedway many times to see the demolition derbys there. :clapping:

Looks like some creations I made back when I was 11 or 12. All you needed was a plastic model, a gas stove and a heated screwdriver for the fine work :D I can still hear my mothers voice yelling out " is something burning in the kitchen ! " :laugh2:

Bob and others check this out. Owner Marty Himes is a cool guy and has preserved many pieces of this bygone era.
