Guys,

I aquired an OS436 F1 body for the Summit race this Saturday. This is the McLaren M7C. I decided to sit in front of the football game and trim the body along the trim lines. Well, I went to mount it and now may have found an issue. Here's my problem.

On the sides at the point where the natural body ends, there is a body line going up the side at about a 30 degree angle all the way to the rear of the body. I cut along this line. When I went to mount the body later I noticed the chassis is visible along the side starting at about where the motor brushes are and rises from there to the rear. So the chassis is visible along with the lower third of the motor can when looking at the car from the side. I assume the full scale M7 had its engine visible since there was no bodywork rear of the driver except for the top wing.

Will this be legal for the Summit or do I need to hunt through the trash for scraps of Lexan to tape over the area?

Thanks.
Gil Pataky

Nope... as long as you cannot see the chassis looking straight down from the top... you will be good to go.
