Sunday's monthly D3 Hardbody races had a good turnout, although some racers did not stay for the final race of the day due to the very hot weather!

Thanks to Jim and Debby Watterson for their support of hardbody racing at Buena Park Raceway.

Thanks to our race directors, Victor Dubrowski and Keith Tanaka.

The 80's NASCAR race today used a new "racer handicap" system. The purpose of the handicap is to provide a better chance of making the podium for all racers. As you know, slot car racing has been "scratch" racing as far as the winner having the most laps (without any handicap). Popular sports such as golf and bowling rely heavily on "handicap" leagues in order to maintain interest. Bowling in particular would probably be similar to slot car racing today as far as the number of bowling alleys still open. Bowling could not survive without "handicap" leagues. Maybe its time to try handicap slot car racing to help increase and maintain participation levels. We'll give it a try at BPR and see what happens over the coming months.

Nice report once again Keith. Great looking cars. Hope that handicap system works for everyone. :)
