.... flew through the air about 30 feet and hit me hard in the left arm as I was marshalling the 90.

I thought to myself, "Who in the heck is driving my &^%^% car !!! ???"

Oh %$#& I hope nobody saw that on the streaming video :laugh2: (Forgot to remove and impound my car after my White lane sit-out...)

The chassis and body had zero damage, but the crown was dinged. Thanks to Wes Pikunis for a valiant attempt to save it, but it died shortly thereafter.

Last time I attended a Sano event, I remember Matt Bruce had a bad hand-out motor in one of the JK classes... he never cried, he just soldiered onward... That memory influenced me, so I just closed one eye, farted, and continued my marshalling duties... :laugh2:

I'm surprised anything got damaged.

Beuford, at the 2006 Wing Nat's, at about 80-90 MPH, went halfway through the soft wall in the bank.

He still tied for high total for that heat, and fairly easily won the race.

Your car was just tapping you on the shoulder and saying "hey, you forgot about me!" :laugh2:

At least you know your chassis can take a hit...

I can verify that! As I'm a crash test expert for a Pablo-built chassis! :)

What's the likelihood of that happening? Great story, Paul! :good:

I was standing right behind him as he was marshaling the 90 and was attacked by his car. I thought I heard the driver in the car say, "Oops".

Don't feel badly, my friend. My car stopped in front of me on white. Bernie was pitting for me and told me how lucky we were. I did not pick up my car like I was supposed to... 3, 2, 1... Hello wall... Mine did not get damaged... lesson learned.

It was great to see you again...

To reinforce comments in my "Random Thoughts" posts, I'm betting sleep deprivation was a factor in Pablo's mistake.
