Did you model this after a particular full-size car? I note you modified the hood vents and removed one set of tail lights.

I did not only remove a pair of tail lights: I modified the place for the two and also changed the way the chrome parts are glued to the body, for more realism.
About opening the hood vents: because of this, I had to create a part for the exhaust pipes:

Cheetahs were not exactly what one would call a good race car... but the little Cox 1/32 scale slot car is one of many collectors favorites, and certainly one of mine, regardless of its equally poor performance on a slot track.

One must remember this is only a 1/32 and requires more skill than its larger brother. Fantastic details like the "Pink" chassis, gauge and steering wheel work and my favorite part, how you removed the center cap from the rear wheels.
Stunning!

... regardless of its equally poor performance on a slot track.
Mine runs perfectly fine on my track - it is very competitive with my Monogram Ford GT, Ferrari 330PLM, and others of that era. Granted, they all benefit from Ortmann tires, but that's all that has changed.
I think often that the tracks are more to blame than the cars for poor performance.

This is necessary on both NOS and used tires and the NOS requires more sanding to remove all the oxidized surface, It is important to round off the outside edge or it will catch first on a curve and cause the car to tilt and prevent the surface of the tire from making contact with the track.
On cars that are run often, you can sand these while they are still on the car by holding or taping a piece of sandpaper to the track and holding the car up enough to let the wheels spin, without overheating the motor.

This one pulls on my heart strings as well.
Very nice car.
I still want one.

I still want one.
They come up quite regularly on eBay, if you find one you like and can't get the seller to ship to NZ, you can get him to ship it to me and I will forward it.

But the mint examples can be pricey...

Kewl!
Love the smudging on the exhaust tips.

I recently found the one I used briefly as a kid. I'm guessing 1969 or 70. My buddy got a Riggen pan chassis and then so did I. I didn't save the original box, though.
Q: I plan to look for a Dynamic Dodge Charger in 1/24. Would this Cheetah be good for a partial trade, up or down?? Thanks.

If you haven't already, show that sweet model to the owner of the 1/1 Cheetah, bet he'd be flattered.

They do come up quite often even as mint and boxed as this example, because it was a very successful toy in its day:

Strange, this is the only real or model Cheetah I've ever seen with what look like vent windows. Did the owner get creative with chrome tape?

That bright line that you are assuming is the front edge of the vent window is a reflection from the overhead lighting... same with the bright lines on the fenders, etc. The rear edge may be a reflection also.
