I am pleased to read the above, and will try to participate in as many events as possible, with my aim to show that pre-geriatric "has-been" racers (AKA "premium vintage", hey!) can still hold their own against the younger generations...

I will also help with tech inspection and help anyone who needs some to set up their cars, their controllers and their attitude. :D

LET'S HAVE FUN!!!! :to_become_senile:

Well "Retro Racing" is pretty much "Old Fahrt" racing for sure!! Maybe it's time to create a "super senior" class for those over 60!!! :) :) 5 laps added on to what ever your total is-!! :)

As Groucho Marx would have said, "Whatever it is, I am FOR it!"

Add 5 laps to my total in each class, I'll take it! :laugh2:

Hey Howie,

You are still too young to qualify for the five laps! :)

Hi Jay,

All the legal bodies are listed in the regs HERE. :)

Are there any that you would rather use, not listed there?

The SCRRA has been working on adding many more bodies to the legal list for a while now and I will post what we will add so far tonight. More will be added as we go along. Outisight is sending us some more to check out shortly.

The Checkpoint Cup of 2010 was my first encounter of retro racing.
Although I was just a spectator, I was so overwhelmed to start racing at Buena Park, to ask Gary Gerding to install a King Track & to start our retro racing program in Tokyo in February, 2011.
Having raced in 2011 & 2012, this will be my 3rd challenge for the Cup.
I hope I will bring a couple of Tokyo racers with me.
Kamo-san has already decided to come with me.

Looking forward to seeing you all in January,

Good Racing,

Haruki

Bryan,
I would like to know specifically if OS 475(Ti 22 NN) & True Scale's improved Kirby Ti-22 Long will be approved.

Since the CPC is sponsored by Parma, will the Parma F1 retro bodies be legal?

So much DRAMA for such small cars....

Don't DQ me for having the wrong SHADE of orange on my McLaren... after all, it's ONLY a toy car!!!

Gentlemen,
I talked today with an eminent member of the BoA and the updated listing will be published in just a few days, as some of the proposed bodies are apparently in the mail to the Board.
I am told that over 15 new bodies will be added to the various classes.

Haruki

Haruki,
The new Truescale Kirby Ti-22 long body is basically the same as the old one except with VERY slight ribs running along the outside upper front edge of the nose. No real aero enhancement but added strength and still completely legal. It is still the same part # TSR24.
The O/S 475 is NOT legal in SCRRA racing as we have disallowed many of the Ti bodies for basically having side dams a bit higher than what we want. The SCRRA's philosophy is one of keeping the chassis's performance more important in the equation than the body's. We just frown on a bit too much downforce and have eliminated a few bodies that we feel have too much of an aero advantage.

I do not see any "we" in my messages...

I am a concerned racer. That I have no longer any authority does not mean that I have lost interest.

Duff, I'd say you're qualified to comment. If a particular topic is relative to only a certain track or 'org', then there isn't usually a reason to chime in, except to highlight a point that may apply to my locale. If the subject matter applies to broader participation, then sure, why not comment, BUT its best to have the ducks lined up Cross-examination can be devastating.
