As the weeks go by we are getting more interest in retro racing.

Both were using loaners and I think both had a good time , we hope to keep finding dormant and or conquest from other discipline racers and continue building our group by keeping it not real serious and just a little casual.

My most success lately for weekly races is extremely casual.

I had 12 guys last night that ran in 2 full field rental car IROC races.

The Snow kinda put a dampner on our group (thought I made it from across town in my rear wheel drive Lincoln LS) so just a little practice and we where outta there so Dave could close and go home. We will try again next Wednesday the 2nd and see what happens.

Rick hasn't lost a race yet, not even close.

The one race that was close Rick loaned Dave DeCoster a car.

 

But wait!  

This week the MRRA is racing at the house of Sloan (Boogie Speedway)

Davis, should have his best competition in Michigan this Sunday.

This is going to be a very exciting race. I can't wait!!!

^{Noose, Racing on Wednesday night is a bit of a risk management, how much car are you willing to risk as we have a group of guys that are just getting back into or starting to race retro so I have been running some of my old stuff, Rick keeps calling me a chicken, but I can't just go out and pop out a couple more chassis the next day. Not that I could beat Rick the racing machine! We are having a good time racing on Wednesday's and the group keeps growing. My friend who drag races should be there next week  to add one more to the mix!}

What track you guys racing on?

It's a Chris Dadds "corner climb" nominally a hillclimb that was redesigned to fit a corner of a store somewhere (think Chris posted somewhere in the distant past that it was a "one off") - think its' about 135 feet per lap - every other Thursday the wing car group runs x-12 powered wings that run jn the low 2 second range.

Rick, that's a great track. I learned most(very little) of what I know racing on that when I left the R/C scene. Track was located in Montgomery IL @ Fox Speedway, 15 min. mid distance between home and work. Perfect location for me. Roger took over the location and tracks and became Mid-America Raceway, he had the 2009 USRA Nats on that track as well as the Midwest Monster flat track.

 

I can understand Rich's reluctance to race his good stuff on that track, bent many good cars on that track, quickly learned the need to drive ahead of the car! 

 

Great looking group of racers on Wednesday nights, keep it up. You could let somebody else win once in a while.

We where a little light in last weeks race 4 for F1 and 6 for Can-am.

Our track reporter PSC- Dave was also absent and I did not pick up the sheets with the lap totals, Guess who won??

Anyway some of us are going to start running coupes starting this Wednesday the 30th the only change required to run a coupe is it should weight in at 110.G and run a coupe body. We will combine the Can-am's (100.G) so if thats what you got come on down. Racing will start at 7:30

_{We had a good turn out this Wednesday  with a full 8 cars for F1 and Bob Appelle decided to race direct the Can-Am - Coupe race or we would have had to go to a round robin!! Bob has the race results and said he would post. Good crowd come on down and race. Bob and I  actually made Rick work a little but of course he put a spanking on us in the end.}
