Justin Colvin wins the first race of the 2013 Bay Area FCR season.
The theme for the first race of the season was definitely crash and burn. Carnage was rampant and a number of cars visited the walls and/or the floor. Rider was a common cry of anguish before the thump of death into the Wall of Shame (owned by Frank Rotgaber it seemed through much of the fray). When the dust cleared a well-known area racer was out at the front.
Justin Colvin drove a great race leading from start to finish. He ended the race with 237 laps and managed fastest lap at 5.710 on the orange lane. With smooth and fast driving he was able to pull out pretty much an extra lap a heat for 9 laps over the rest of the pack at the checkered flag.
Wolf Immel took a strong 2nd place with 228 laps and was the only real competition for Justin throughout the race. Randy Tragni took 3rd place with 218 laps struggling with car issues throughout the race.
Next were Frank the wall Rotgaber (4th with 216 laps), Eric Jan (5th with 212 laps), and Ray Villanova (6th with 200 laps). Uncle Gary Hoehn and Floyd Todd finished outside of the points.

Points are awarded to the first six finishers:
10 points for first place, 8 points for second, 6 points for third, 4 points for fourth, 2 points for fifth, 1 points for sixth.

1st Justin Colvin with 10 points (+10)
2nd Wolf Immel with 8 points (+8),
3rd Randy Tragni with 6 points (+6)
4th Frank Rotgaber with 4 points (+4)
5th Eric Jan with 2 points (+2)
6th Ray Villanova with 1 point (+1)
Flexi-LMP was also run on the Motherlode. Justin won this race as well, followed closely by Ray Villanova in 2nd with a very strong performance. A little farther back were Frank, Randy, Eric and Floyd.
