Great report, keep em coming.
I love to see the car pics, especially for retro anglewinder cars, which are not run in the Northeast.
Thanks

Not that it really matters a whole bunch, somehow my 1/32 car and Don Campbells got switched on the tech table.

Thanks a million times to Bryan Warmack for posting the results, that's a lot of work!
Congratulations to Duran Trujillo, a person simply above us all in his car control and engineering.
I really regret to have missed the Retro Pro race due to an emergency. Apparently it was really something!
And 27 entries! For a class pronounced dead by some...

Philippe,
For all the time and effort you put into getting your lightweight cars sorted out and running great it was a shame you didn't get a chance to run them. ........................ At least they're all intact for the Festival of Speed Race at the end of April.

Well if you check James Grimstead's times in his race--he was running a JIm Lange built clone of PDL'S chassis---he was consistently in the 3.3's during the race!!! The car was BALLISTIC--he had some issues!

Bryan, by that time I will have the things pretty solidly stuck so even a half-blind, pre-geriatric folk can drive them successfully!
One hopes.
Either way, I would like to thank you for helping in this little pet project as well as Dan DeBella and Barney Poynor. Thanks to all, and I am happy that it inspired others to get their cars on a diet and helped them to make them more bullet-proof.

Interesting that all the cars do not run the 1/2 inch spoiler that the rules allow.
Can someone explain why that is?
Thanks in advance

Adding a spoiler also adds rear traction. When the track is stuck, often you end up with too much traction, and the front end of the car becomes too light, causing the front of the car to lift and de-slot when pushed.
Hence a rear spoiler is not always desirable.

Plus they slow the car down on the straight sections.
