Sunday January 13, 2013, 14 speed crazed morons made the fourth race of the Michigan Retro Racing Association series at Boogie Speedway otherwise still known as the House of Sloan. And there aint no slow in Sloan as Rick Sloan swept the day’s events in some close racing near the top.
First up was F1 where we would like to welcome Seth Kellogg to our series that ran a JK INDy car for only our second non retro entry in the series. Rick Sloan won in a very close race over Rick Davis by less than two laps with the Greg VanPeenen close behind to fill out the podium.

Next up was CAN Am where again Seth Kellogg and Roger Kellogg both entered non retro cars. They had some pretty good running Parma Flexi cars in the race. Rick Sloan won in a close race over Rick Davis and Greg  VanPeeen. Sloan and Davis had the same fast lap times and the race could have gone either way. Rick Davis had 4 unfortunate occurrences in the race including braid coming up on red and yellow, a wreck coming out of the finger where the marshal could not find his car under the top straight and an entanglement in the bank with another racer trying not to take out a third driver on the outside. You know what happens and that allowed Rick Sloan to take the CAN AM race. Sloan won with a new total lap record of 272 laps on a full track. Track records are still being set at Boogie Speedway so the track and the power must be in pretty good condition.

Great report Nelson. But you need one correction I finished ahead of Rick Davis in Can-Am.

What a great day of retro racing.
