I began a very bad period which still lasts and increases to this day and there were two-three guys who bid  and won/bought some stuff and I never shipped. Most of the stuff is still setting in the same spot.

If you are one of those guys, or if you know to whom I'm referring, please send me a PM here. I no longer use any of the contact info associated with eBay.

Even if eBay squared you away, it's time to make right on my end.

Everybody has their regrets. Make thinks right and learn from your mistakes. You might need to do more to find the people you "stiffed".

How common is this sort of thing?  Does ebay just step in and refund the money?

I know some that have been stiffed by buyers on ebay. Ebay just care about the buyer now. They shaft the seller most times. Buyer threatening to give them a negative feed back and if they do. Ebay cuts them off or cuts their selling limits so sellers bend over....If your a power seller and have to live on what you make there. Gettin cut back can really hurt the income...Ebay itself will not refund $$$  It comes out of the sellers account.

Depression will make you not give a crap about anything.

I've been stiffed myself a number of times when I was doing frames on a regular basis, including the guy from Starburst who stiffed me on 50 Gp. 15 frames.

But I realized some of my happiest times were when I was racing.

So...

I see a pattern here http://slotblog.net/user/2235-yetisrp/ and look at topics and post's .
so what is to stop you from screwing some one agan?
Why would you change your user name here on slot blog and what was your old user name?
Good luck but we all have our share of problems . If it were up to me you would have some kind of mark on your profile stating not good to deal with.
I hate to be harsh but this kind of behavior does not just happen it is a way of life and should not be tolerated.
Just my two cents best of luck trying to get back on the track.

it would seem you don't know me or the fact I started out here as YetiSRP and have been Yeti since the early 70's when I started building and selling frames. I changed to Bandes Design when I was trying to get another side gig going and was going to consolidate for tax reasons. That went nowhere so I changed back this past week when I decided I wanted to get back into building and racing.

There are many people here who know me for one reason or another and are probably shocked by this admission. As I've no intention of selling on eBay again, I'm not asking for anyone's trust.

As for your remark that 'this kind of behavior does not just happen it is a way of life and should not be tolerated', well, like I said, you don't know me or what caused this to happen so I suggest you not make a blanket judgement and spare me your hanging judge attitude.

I'm trying to make good through here. It's not like I took off in a white Bronco.

Jim,

It would be great to see you racing again. With Retro and chassis building being so popular, you would be a perfect fit in today's racing scene. Miss seeing those Yeti chassis!!! Slotbloggers, Jim is one of Slot Racings good guys. Hope to see you soon at one of the Ohio tracks.

There are no guarantees in this life. We do the best we can, each & all of us, and sometimes we fall down. Kicking a guy when he's down is poor form at best, and it invites a closer look at the kicker's motives at worst. Do what you need to get on with things, Jim. There're rocks in this long road, but we're all on it together.

I had one like that a few weeks ago, I sold a model and the buyer was not happy...however he didn't want to send it back so I could see the "problem" AND he wanted a full refund.  I gave him a choice of returning the item so I could see the problem (and THEN I would give him a refund).  He was not happy so he hit me with Neg feedback AND eBay paid him his full refund under the buyer protection program.  So (1) He got the model and paid. (2) He was not happy. (3) He would not send it back but he wanted a full refund.  (4) He got his full refund from eBay AND kept the kit AND left me negative feedback.

First neg feedback since 1999

I am not happy.

Good of you to step up and admit what you did :good:  I don't pretend to know or understand what happened or why.

It does however bother me that we all work so hard to give slot racing+slot racers a good name. A few people can un-do what hundreds of people have done over many years. I myself am going through some very difficult issues but it didn't lead me to stiff people out of money. Just saying.

I do applaud you for coming forward and telling us, and I feel everyone deserves a second chance .

Why sugar coat it Duffy ?   It takes time to list things on Ebay so if you are down and depressed and you can do the listing thing you should be able to pack it up and drop it off at the post office whiles you are out getting the money from the bank after the pay-pal transfer.

Duffy you are just too Liberal saying it invites a closer look at the kicker's motives at worst.    :wacko2:

For what it's worth, I didn't take anyone's money out of eBay. I don't know if it was refunded or what. I've not gone in there in months. I ended all my eBay contact info. For all I know, maybe I didn't technically stiff them. Maybe their money was refunded from there. Still, they bought items in good faith and I didn't ship them.

I only got on here to try to get a hold of a couple of guys to make things right and I'm tried by public opinion. I'm flattered by those who would like to have me come race with them again. I mean, Phil! After all these DECADES!

Regardless, I see no sense in offering up my personal foibles for public dispute. I'm sorry it happened.

Jim,

I have known you for little while and can vouch that you are an honest and upstanding person. Trying to make right a past mistake is a step in the right direction. The truth that you just did not ship the product is enough. It's 2013, let's move on and get Yeti Retro Pro chassis all over the place. I'll bet those Yeti chassis will even give the steel chassis at REM a run for their money.

Welcome back Bando! LOL Hope to see you at a race soon and will be in touch........................

The way I see this, "outing ones self" in public can neither be a comfortable nor a "profitable" thing to do.  Even those willing to cut the person some slack are not likely to be completely comfortable dealing with the person making the admission.  Because of that, I think this is nothing but a good thing.  "Caveat Emptor" and all that...sure, but dealing with people on the internet is never without at least some risk.

Hey Jim I remember when your 15 chassis was the chassis to have... Also remember the early '90s Rhino t-bird which was the ONLY flexi nascar body of its generation to handle worth a damn. wish I still had one. Hope you do get into retro, you have the talent set for it. Depression is a BITCH!!!!

Jim, For what it's worth, One of the reasons I race slot cars is to keep the depression demons at bay. When I'm down in my "Laboratory" or I'm at the track, I don't have a problem in the world, I'm having a blast and those "demons" can go to "Inferno Hades"!

if you know what I mean.

We all need some way to "unplug" from this worlds problems and this is how I do it. And you can to.

Now get your butt in gear on that Falcon Wing Car Ronnie got you, 'cause We are "Racing at REM" this Sunday.

See you then

All the Best

Oh nice..... you steal and you call it something else or you blame a condition... lets sing  "Kumbayah" and all we all can be happy and right with the world.

So that's the effort you make? I am sure you took more time figuring out how to steal then to replace.

I for one know about getting stiffed and stiffing people both ways is not great.

If you really feel bad about it try and make it wright or just move on and don't do it again.

I still have chassis that you made nice stuff.

It's called "forgiveness".
We are called by our creator to forgive one another's trespasses just as Christ forgives and FORGETS our sins!

Jim is trying to make it right in the first post back in February.  If you are not one of the persons who was wronged by his actions... why be upset. This thread then, does not concern you.

Furthermore if you do not trust him, don't buy from him in the future.
I for one applaud him for coming out and "airing the laundry" and hope he finds the peace he seeks.

Now, let's go build something!

The intent of this posting was to try to undo some 'damage' that I did in the recent past.

I am touched by the support/compassion/understanding that I've read here in response to that.

Back to my intent; one of the people in question has contacted me and I'm sending him what I think is a nice 'Sorry about that' package today to make up for what happened. So I'm glad I was able to find him.

While getting my workbench cleared away during this, I've also uncovered some written correspondence that I believe is from another one. I'm checking that out today.

Getting there...

I bought a couple of chassis form yetisrp. They were excellent. I regularly followed his listings and was disappointed when I saw that his membership had been terminated.

It looks like yeti sold three $4.50 items to one guy but didn’t ship them. He’s not exactly Bernie Madoff.

I agree with Joe Mig when he says if he had the wherewithal to post the listing how much more effort does it take to go to the post office. But, I can also see how some traumatic or tragic event could occur in someone’s life that causes them to put everything on hold.

The eBay buyer for the three $4.50 items was “rogwerks”

I hope things get better for yeti and I hope he starts building chassis again.

It was the least I could after leaving you hanging out there for all that time.

If you would, Id like to see what you do with the Sprite chassis kit and it built up as a whole car. Maybe under the 1/32nd forum here.

Peace!

quite a delay here in this addition as i am going thru the forum catching up on 30yrs away from slots...

I grew up with Jim in the late 60's early 70's....jim was possibly one of the most honest straight forward individuals ive ever known...

as an example, at a race in Girard Ohio i slipped a tiny tiny amount of rum in his Pepsi and he was mad at me for some time afterwards...
