Motor security stickers

My latest refurbed motors had half of their stickers gone even before I raced them one time. This is ridiculous. Couldn't shrink wrap of some type be used? How about an epoxy seal?
How about approving the new Falcon motor due out this march so we have an alternative to this depressing situation?

I have plenty of motors and have not had any problems at all.
How do you store them? Are you spraying anything on the motors/seals?

The seals were tested using a couple of types of spray and no damage was noted. We used the Trinity stuff and Pure. I have also used Contact Cleaner.
Why specific spray might you be using?

The only time I have seen an issue with the seals is when a motor got really hot, the adhesive softened and the tape loosened.
If some type of spray cleaner is affecting the seals, I would be more concerned about what it may be doing to the motor.
If it's really a problem with the seals, I find it unusual, and would talk to the refurber about it.

I can see where that would happen if you are using lighter fluid to anneal the brushes after cleaning it out with Pure. Use to have the same thing happen on sealed Pro Slot S16D motors. The lighter fluid would make the security seal come right off if you used a little too much.

Then I guess you would be better off not using lighter fluid, eh?

Coat the seal with clear nail polish, especially the edges.

It would be nice (but difficult) to have a seal similar to that of an NSR motor.

I can only speculate why that question was asked.

Gil, I have used Pure without any problems at all. Are you literally soaking the motor?

no i'm not soaking the motor. the only possible chemicals that come in contact would be: pure, lighter fluid (but can't imagine how), maybe a small amount of flux splattering from the lead wire, lubricating oil, braid juice (but can't see that happening either)
i can't believe i'm the only one having this problem. i am shocked that a few of you are surprised

Marc,
All ProSlot motors come in sealed packaging. If you have bought one and it was not in a bag stapled and sealed on a card then you should question the seller.

Noose I have been very lucky because I have purchased some very good Puppy Dogs, and Dan makes a very good and reliable product. That being said I believe the average racer would feel better about thier motor purchase be it slow or fast if there were no underlying thoughts about weather he or she was the only person to have handled the motor. I don't believe a plastic bag delivers this sort of confidence. It would be my hope that that the governing Bod of the IRRA would consider what Gil and I have posted today. Thank you in advance.

Marc,
The ProSlot motors are in a bag attached to card with a staple. The staple is covered with a product tag. If anyone really tried to open them it would be noticed. This has been discussed before but we can let Dan know of course.
Recognize though that packaging changes could result in increased costs and we surely don't want that to happen.

I haven't found any problem with the seals and for sure this is not a "depressing situation" as stated in post #1.

Coat the seal with clear nail polish, especially the edges.
This is what did the trick for my seals that would sometimes chip off.
