This is Gene Husting's revolutionary innovation, one of three he built.  Although it did not compete in this race, it is recognized as being the first successful 1:24 scale anglewinder, and is the basis for the design of the anglewinders that did compete.  Photo taken in 2004 courtesy Gene Husting and Philippe de Lespinay.
