I have a basic Carrera Go set with F1 cars (still in box) and also recently bought a Carrera Go Porsche GT3.  I was noticing that there is a magnet imbedded in the GT3 chassis.

Have any of you ever taken the magnet out of the car and if so, was it driveable?

Just curious.  I want to set this track up sometime so my 11-year old grandson and I can race.  I plan to ditch the loop and get some extra track and maybe attach it to a 4X6 sheet of plywood.

I just never liked the whole magnet thing at all, but I don't want it to be too frustrating for my grandson to attempt to drive.

If there's a way to move the magnet higher in the chassis so it exerts less attraction to the rails, perhaps that is what I'm looking for.
