I might be wrong, but I seem to remember that Phase III had an over the counter F1 chassis for sale at the time that used their universally used motor bracket.

Tony P was on the scene on the east coast at the time so I'll defer to him for confirmation.

At the time (late, late 60's/early '70's) I thought these anglewinder F1 cars would take off, but the unlimited CanAm class of cars was evolving to the high powered, steamrolling behemoth it became and there just wasn't room for additional classes.  At the end of the day they really did look like fun.

I came back to look at this chassis once again to see how he mounted the motor.  When I put a motor in the one I'm building there was no room for the bottom endbell screw.  I see that's true with this chassis as well and I can see no evidence of the motor having been soldered in.  So, were these chassis' run with just a single screw holding the motor in or am I missing something?

Don, usually a single screw used to set the gear mesh, then the motor can was soldered to rear axle tube and to the motor bracket, usually on the bottom. That worked well until you would launch and destroy the whole car anyway. Lol.

The LASCM should have a few Emott one sin their possession.  I know they have mine there.  Went back to Bob to get fixed and whoosh gone.

Since we never raced them again, no big loss.
