Knight Bodies

Knight Bodies 15 Oct 2009.jpg

Knight had more body styles available than most early manufacturers but didn't, as far as I can tell, do any advertising or promotion in the major slot car magazines such as Car Model and Model Car & Track.  There are no Knight catalogs, dealer order sheets or product line cards that I have been able to find.

Auto World and Polk's Hobbies have clear plastic bodies from un-named manufacturers in their early offerings, but I have not been able to verify that any of them were Knight products.

Model Car & Track did a series of articles in 1964 listing available slot car bodies, and Knight bodies are mentioned, but there are no photos.  There are no construction articles using Knight bodies in either MC&T or CM, and no product reviews... except for this single write up in the May 1963 issue of Car Model:

Lee, was Knight a British company? Do any of the product sheets for the bodies you show include where they were located?

Bill I can only go on photos on the completed auctions as these are not my bodyshells. It looks like Knight were in the US as some of the inserts have the price in $$ penciled along with the part #s, one listing had unravelled insert but no location printed on it.
