Inline Motor Bracket Bracing 1968
Piano wire and sheet brass gussets
January, 1968: Doubled square inside brace and gussets. Small rectangular bits of sheet brass, oriented vertically, are used as a direct replacement for the older style brass rod struts. Also, the forward ends of the lower square brace are bent inwards to form a motor mounting plate brace.

February, 1968: Square inside brace, wide "U" outside brace andgussets. In this bracing arrangement the gussets are triangular shaped bits of sheet brass installed horizontally to serve the purpose of the brass rod struts they replace.

March, 1968: Wide "U" outside brace, outside gussets, "A" brace and doubler plate. An unusual bracing arrangement the sheet brass gussets are mounted outside the bracket, and a sheet brass doubler is attached to the front side of the motor mounting plate.

March, 1968: Square inside brace, wide "U" outside brace and angled struts. A more conventional bracing arrangement except for the struts, which are angled so as to provide a larger, and therefore stronger, solder joint at the point where they attached to the bracket arms.

March, 1968: Square inside brace, gussets and modified "A" brace. The motor mounting plate brace looks more like a "W" than an "A", but serves the same purpose.
