Mabuchi

 

15R - Mid 1961 through 1964 - Direct predecessor of the FT-16.

 

FT-16 Type 1 - Mid 1963 - Blind can bushing, spring post upper right, no separate brush holders, wide solder tabs, unplated irregular stack laminations, white Delrin commutator.

 

FT-16 Type 2 - Early 1964 - Blind can bushing, spring post upper right, no separate brush holders, narrow solder tabs, plated and aligned stack laminations, white Delrin commutator.

 

FT-16 Type 3 - Late 1964 - Blind can bushing, spring post upper right, no separate brush holders, narrow solder tabs, plated and aligned stack laminations, green or brown commutator.

 

FT-16D Type 1 - Mid 1965 - Blind can  bushing, spring post upper left, separate brush holders, narrow solder tabs, plated aligned stack laminations, green commutator.

 

FT-16D Type 2 - Late 1965 - Spring post upper left, separate brush holders, large grooved brass back shell with gimbal bushing.

 

FT-16DBB - Mid 1968 - Spring post upper left, separate brush holders, large grooved aluminum back shell with ball bearing.

 

FT-13UO - Mid 1965 - Spring post upper left, primitive brush hoods, large grooved brass back shell with gimbal bushing.

 

FT-26 - Late 1966 - End bell drive, spring post upper left, separate brush holders, plain aluminum back shell with ball bearing.

 

FT-26D - Late 1966 - Can drive or double shaft, all other charactieristics same as FT-26.

 

FT-36 - Late 1964 - Spring post upper right, no separate brush holders, magnet stops in can, plain back shell with gimbal bushing.

 

FT-36D - Mid 1965 - Spring post upper left, separate brush holders, large grooved brass back shell with gimbal bushing.

 

Igarashi - Also known as "Hemi" motors, sometimes erroneously attributed to "Hitachi".

 

Small - Mid to late 1965 - Closed can corners, recessed can tabs, single can-mount screw hole.

 

Large - Mid 1965 - Closed can corners, recessed can tabs, single can-mount screw hole.

 

Shigoto-Johnson

 

Small - Late 1967 - Blind can bushing, three wide can slots, black endbell.

 

Pittman

 

DC-6001 - April 1966 - The only can motor Pittman produced for slot racing, Oilite bushing or ball bearing.
