The very car used as a model by Monogram to make one of their most famous slot cars, the 1965 "Cro-Sal Spl" is for sale. It will go on the Bonhams auction block at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July.
The car, driven by Ralph Salyer and wrenched by Gene Crowe, was quickly modified to an unrecognisable state, and here is one of the rare pictures showing the car before it was highly modified and became in fact a McKee re-creation:

This should help you to decorate your scarce Monogram model accurately, courtesy of the Bonhams sales brochure received today. :)

Scott ought to buy it as the center piece of the museum...

Any guesses on how much the car will sell for?

I'll start with 2.5 million dollars.

As for the slot kits I'll go $100 American.
