The track is a very smooth 160' Engleman. Here's a pic from the Central TN Raceway List entry:

Been a while since I've raced on it, and I can't remember the braid depth exactly but it's not too odd. Probably .010-.015" but Rick will post to confirm.
 
This is one very nice track, that doesn't really have any "foibles" or "gotchas" that I know of.

I'm pretty sure you use a power supply. What brand and amperage, please?
