Hello again.
Some GT40 cars that I have built over the years that I have been competing with model racing here in Sweden. I start with a car that raced in LeMans in 1966. Drivers were Mario Andretti and Lucien Bianchi. Body of the model comes from a Fujimi kit and decals from Werks in Germany.

That GT40 looks really nice, Christer.
What chassis are you using? I am about to build a GT40 with a 'Lancer' body and scratchbuilt brass chassis.

Slotracing Werk has some great decals to allow the modeler to make many unusual subjects such as all of the "Factory Supported" GT40 Mk IIs from LeMans 1966:
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8.
And the four Mk IVs from LeMans 1967:
1-2-3-4
Many others are available, too.

That's thirty minutes away. I'll be there in ten.

Thanks for the information, did not know if it was okay to leave info about retailers.
Clearly, there are many decals to use on Fujimi cars. So just to check out what is on offer. Fords are much easier to build for model racing, if you see how the 917 or 512 models from Fujimi go together. I recommend if you want to start to build a model racing car in hardbody, then a GT40 clearly the best. Not many parts to be glued together and a solid body.
Subject chassis I've used is a Schöler 55 striker with gfk chassis parts on the Ford GT40 that is shown above. Here's a picture of what the chassis looks like.
Another GT40 that I have built this. It was run at Sebring in 1966; drivers were Dick Holquist and Bruce Jennings. Results was 13th overall in the competition.

Superb! And the Hallibrand wheels are the icing on the cake!

I hope you don't mind me adding the source information for the decals, others might want to try building a GT40 also.
The #23 Scuderia Bear 1966 Sebring car above uses Vintage Racing Miniatures decal sheet VRM-011 which has decals to build four different Ford GT40 Mk Is from that event (three complete cars and an alternate).
Check out their products HERE.
These decals should be used on Fujimi kits:
HR-13 12135, HR-9 12142, HR-27 12166; NOT the GULF 1968-69 kits - they do not have the correct parts for correct model appearance.
Please check the notes under EXTRAS INCLUDE on the above sheet pic- certain bonus decals have been included that according to the notes have never been made available in scale previously.

Always loved the GT40s. Awesome cars, Christer!
Also thanks for the decal information will come in handy for making some GT40s...
Either scratchbuilding the chassis or using a Plafit, Scaleauto, or other brass/composite chassis.

Here's another Ford Gt 40 from Le Mans in 1966 that I have built
about a year ago.
